Check Out What’s Going on at TSP’s Discord
I am not going to lie, I was not all in or even in on Discord on my first pass. Setting up a “discord server” comes with some need of technical knowledge and it just looked like a pain in the ass. So I did not do it.
As so often happens when you have a great community, the community wanted one so they did it for me, whether I wanted it done or not. They then made me an admin and said, “get your ass on discord”. I have been doing this long enough to know such things are not to be ignored. So I got on our Discord and with smart people setting it up, it is awesome and it is powerful.
Discord is kind of like a group chat, a way to make voice calls, share files, run conference calls, etc. all in one. One big thing that differentiate it from Telegram is channels. If you look along the side of the Discord interface you will see hash tags these are like boards on a forum and divide up discussions by subject. This is so much nicer than a single ongoing discussion on 500 different things like Telegram has.
The real power on Discord though is where our tech team comes in. It is a very powerful platform that can have a lot done by “bots”, like quizzing people before they get in to reduce board spammers. Another bot we were able to install allows folks to receive, spend and use the new ARRR (Pirate Chain Cryptocurrency). This lets you tip and get tipped by others with ARRR and if you have no ARRR you can even get a bit every day for free from the faucet. Here is how the faucet works on our Discord…
Want to get some free ARRR or easily transact using Pirate Chain with other members of the TSPC community? You can do both of these on the TSPC Discord server with the new ARRR Tip Bot integration. It’s very easy to deposit, withdraw, and send funds to other users with simple text commands. You can even get a little bit of free ARRR from the faucet every four hours! Visit the #tipbot-channel on Discord, and type !arrrtip to get started.
Here is another thing we created just this week. How about a fun game where you can bond with others, laugh your ass off, use a privacy crypto (ARRR) and just have a great time. We have it for you. Inspired by the party card game, Cards Against Humanity, we created Gifs Against Huge Manatees.
Here are the basic rules. Just look at the pinned post for exactly how to do it but basically a player enters a command that states an amount of ARRR (say .5 ARRR) and starts a timer say (5 minutes). The system will generate a random challenge phrase say, “Grandmaw go out of her ticket by ______”. All players can post up to 2 gifs until the timer runs out. Once the timer expires the person who made the challenge picks a winner and tips the winner the stated amount of ARRR with a simple command.
This is all integrated into our server, when you sign up and are vetted as legit you have an ARRR address right away and can’t start getting tips, etc. You can also deposit to it if you have ARRR and get a tiny bit a few times a day from the faucet.
The Gifs Against Huge Manatees board is sitting there for pick up games on the fly, just by scrolling back and looking at prior games or watching one play out you will get the jist. We think this week we may do a planned group game though, info on that in the coming week.
You may wonder why a silly game? People like games, people bond over games and what a great entry ramp to cryptocurrency and the best privacy crypto on the market at that.
We are also working on a Unloose the Goose sub board that members will need a Goose Identifier for, more on that to come and may run some members only Goose Group calls there in the future. The difference between what we do with YouTube streaming is you can talk to us while we are doing this. Like a conference call.
There is more, lots more and if it all sounds too technical, don’t worry, our team has that part handled. The rest is easy to figure out. So Join Our Discord and connect with one of the coolest communities in the TSPC Family.
