TSP-25 Workshop and Ticket Sale Dates Announced

The TSPC 2025 workshop is going to be one of the best we have ever done. We have a new venue, new opportunities, better camping and bunk facilities. Same price, same great people but this year more people. Yep our new venue will allow me to sell 85 tickets vs. the 50 we generally sell.
When Do Tickets Go on Sale?
As typical we will drop the link to sign up in our Telegram Group and Telegram Channel at 9AM CDT on a Saturday, this year that will be Saturday the 13th of September. Deposits will be 200 dollars with the balance due when you show up in November.
The dates of the workshop this year are Nov. 5-9. As typical the 5th is a Wednesday the 5th for set up and social time, the actual class dates are Thursday the 6th – Saturday the 8th. Students can camp over until Sunday the 9th and must be off property by noon that day.
Total cost is 600 and we have had that price for three years now despite significant increases to our cost on food and this year on a venue. However, being able to sell more tickets will let us keep the cost level where it currently is. Please consider when we started these in 2013 the cost was 500 dollars. We have worked hard to keep the cost level and still make enough money to do a good job for everyone and make the work worth the effort.
What is the New Venue?
For those that have been to my place it isn’t very far away from where I live. The location is a YMCA Camp called “Camp Carter” and it is just a beautiful place. Distance from DFW airport by rental or Uber is about the exact same as to my house so if you are flying in you can expect about the same cost and time of travel. The camp is 300 acres, has a pond you can fish in along with river access where you can also fish if you want.
The camping area is nicely treed and a couple acres of nice flat ground that is easy to put a stake into for your tents. OG TSP workshop folks will find that a big upgraded alone. We also will have real showers, a beautiful hall for meals and presentations, real bathrooms and a lot more space then we have had on my small property.
Students that want to will be able to rent a bunk in one of the bunk houses. These are 30 dollars a night and you can make those arrangements with the YMCA directly after you get your tickets if you want one. To be clear these are “bunk houses”, twin beds that are done up as bunk beds. Think boy scout camp, because that is what it is. As always you can also get a near by hotel or AirBnB. But you do have far more options this time.

That Is It For Now
Today I just wanted to give you some hard dates, this week I will be announcing the presenters and topics for those we have locked in so far. More information on meals, etc. I do want to say if you think we have hit it out of the park with food in the past, just wait for this one. We have a full commercial kitchen for our staff this year and Chef Michael has plans. Additionally Chef Ken Daniels and I are working on some special “extras” that will blow your mind.

I do regret never attending an OG TSP Workshop at your farm, but this sounds like a serious upgrade, Jack.
This bunkhouse is like a really nice small barracks. Should be really nice.
Is booze allowed at this site? As a YMCA camp, I wonder…
This is answered in the video. The answer is a yes, but answer.
Basically in the main hall (dining and presentation hall) only but no one is going to be checking glasses. Just no acting like teen idiots and no open consumption outside. Your tent, bunk house, etc. your business as well.
We are required to have a TABC licensed person on staff for this and we have two. So we are good.
Truck campers allowed or is it just tents?
If you mean can you car/truck camp sleep in your vehicle absolutely. Though likely in a parking area not the dedicated camp area, no one wants you driving on the grass there.
If you mean like a camper top on a truck, same deal.
Are dogs allowed in the campground area?
I am meeting with my contact this week and will provide that info soon. What I can say is if so the dogs must be 100% well behaved and on leash AT ALL TIMES.
Thank you.
Service dogs only.
What is November workshop date? I didn’t see that anywhere or couldn’t find it. 🙂
