Michael Whisler grew up in the suburbs of Central Indiana. He discovered his passion for the outdoors at age 17, on his first backpacking trip in Colorado. He then took his new passion to Indiana University, where he got his B.S. in Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Human Ecology.
