Today Jesse Markowitz returns to TSPC to discuss the latest updates from Start9 and the continuing evolution of sovereign computing. We’ll dig into StartOS 0.4.0, StartTunnel, new networking capability, easier service packaging, privacy when hosting services over the internet, and what all this means for people who want real control over their digital lives.

We’ll also look at what Start9 has coming next, including StartWrt, their new router project, StartBot, their coming AI assistant, and self hosted cameras. This is not theory or nerd candy for people who just like blinking lights on a box. This is about owning your infrastructure, reducing dependence on Big Tech, and making the internet personal again.

Jesse helps people understand and use Bitcoin, privacy tools, and self hosted technology through YourPersonalBitcoinAssistant.com. He brings an engineering degree from Georgia Tech, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and years of information technology experience to the table. More importantly, he knows how to explain this stuff in a way normal people can actually use.

He is also the cofounder of The Bitcoin Pivot, where he hosts a podcast focused on Bitcoin adoption beyond price charts and moon boy hype. The show digs into culture, creativity, connection, and the human side of why Bitcoin matters. At home, Jesse runs multiple Start9 servers, has packaged open source services for StartOS, and is active in helping people take practical steps toward controlling their money and their data.

Outside of Bitcoin and tech, Jesse is a PSIA certified ski instructor and lives in eastern Pennsylvania with his wife and children. He first joined TSPC in 2022 to talk Lightning nodes, came back soon after to discuss Start9 servers, and for the last two years has served on Jack’s Expert Council answering listener questions on Bitcoin, StartOS, open source software, privacy, and digital sovereignty.`
