With a background in public education and a Masters in Education, Matt has taken his passion for teaching beyond the traditional classroom. He’s the brains behind a multitude of online courses and has penned over 20 books, focusing on permaculture and regenerative soil science. His works include the acclaimed Permaculture Student series and the Regenerative Soil Trilogy.
But Matt’s not just about the written word. He’s also the voice behind ‘A Regenerative Future’, a podcast and Youtube show where he engages with thought leaders in the regenerative space. Here, he shares his insights and showcases his work, inspiring listeners to embrace a more sustainable future.

What plant process did Matt say shuts down in high temps?
The evapotranspiration process within the plant shuts down as the humidity peaks and the differential between soil moisture and air diminishes. Then Calcium is not transported easily throughout the plant and not taken up from the roots because it only travels through that pathway. This is why foliar water soluble calcium sprays are so useful in the tropics.
