Mike Krebill is one of the Midwest’s best-known foraging instructors and a member of the National Wild Foods Association Hall of Fame. Many people know Mike from his active participation in Facebook groups devoted to edible wild plants and mushrooms, where he shares his insights and enthusiasm.
Mike was an award-winning middle school science teacher for 35 years. His students had fun learning experimenting skills with wild foods.
Decades of experience with wild edibles have made him invaluable as a technical editor as well as a field guide author. He has served as a technical editor on 10 books. His own field guide is now out.
He joins us today to discuss his new book called, “The Scout’s Guide to Wild Edibles. A fantastic guide for anyone, not just scouts that will teach you how to forage, prepare and eat 40 different wild foods.
