12 Rules of Business – Epi-3656
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:39:34 — 28.5MB)
Today we discuss my personal 12 rules of business. Like many of my rules they are not exactly mine, rather those I learned from others and experience over the years. So many people seem to want to have a business but they either approach it without discipline or simply don’t know what to do so they never start.
Many of my rules seem to oppose the experts, for example I do say follow your passion and many “experts” say that is a bad idea. They say seek a business that serves a market that has high demand, forget your passion. Who is right, both of us, because my full rule is “follow your passion but understand passion doesn’t pay the bills”. My point on that one is simple, you can make money in almost any niche today in dozens of ways. So yes find a demand but you may as well find a demand that aligns with something you love or at least like.
Today we cover that rule and 11 more of them. These are rules on which I built The Survival Podcast to a 6 figure business with in 18 months. But I also used them to manage a 100 million dollar territory for a technology company, to comanage a contract recruiting company with 50 employees and 2,500 contractors dispatched literally all over the world.
This means these rules are universal to all businesses. They will work for anything from a one man solopreneur content or drop ship business, they will work for someone building a major enterprise and even for the W2 Employee that knows even in a job it is really you inc.
