Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:20:38 — 18.5MB)
Jason is a long time proponent of eating local and founded Rebel Gardens to help get people eating as local as possible – From their own front yard! Join Jason and I today as we discuss how the industrial food system became so dominant and the biggest problem within it.
We also get into how both corporations and government are equally responsible for the poor quality and limited choice in food today. How to actually grow food even as a suburbanite even with limited time and space. The best things to start out growing first and why food is the place to begin with your efforts to improve your world and the world as a whole at the same time.

Jack has long been a source of information and inspiration to me for years. After having a farm for several years, I now live in a motorhome in an RV park. I am saving to buy a place and was feeling hopeless about my prospects for growing my own food at the beginning of this year.
I took Jack’s suggestion about using ‘reusable’ grocery bags as containers. I now have about 40 plants including tomatoes, potatoes, watermelon, peppers, squash and more.
I also got into quail and have been producing my own meat and eggs.
Jack’s point over and over is instead of saying, “I can’t, ask yourself instead, how can I?”
It is a daily source of contentment and recharges my batteries tending to my food needs in direct partnership with Nature.
Jack, I appreciate your wide range of interests and encouragement.
Well that is going on the air, fuckin A good for you man.
Mislabeled episode number, this is episode 2912.
The blog entry is shown as 2911 when it is really 2912 as the MP3 is labeled.
