Permaculture as a Design Science Part Three – Epi-3058
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 2:24:00 — 33.0MB)
Today we continue what is going to be at least a 5 part series on the design science of Permaculture. These will be both done as audio podcasts and in live feeds with support from power point slides. This series will serve long term as what will amount to a free introductory course on Permaculture. If you have not listened to part one, and part two, you may want to listen to both for a better of the science of permaculture, before diving into the topic of techniques.
Today we expand on our series as we continue with techniques, tactics and strategies as they relate to Permaculture design. While today we will focus on food production and livestock I do want to remind you that as a design science permaculture can be applied to just about anything from designing a business to designing your lifestyle.
Today in Part Three of our Permaculture as a Design Science series we dig into techniques, tactics and strategies. More on type one errors and examine how the scale of permanence influences our design decisions.

Hey Jack, not really related to this episode, but just wondering, where did you get your scythe?
https://scythesupply.com/ Is where I got mine and it fits great. I got a “weed” blade and it doesn’t do well on grass. If you e never used one before, take the advise on the website and get a short-mid sized blade for starting out.
Okay, thanks!
Hey Jack, a little constructive feedback; when your live feed starts the sound quality drops with some “breaking” in the audio. Not sure if it’s a bandwidth problem or what. The old “car” shows were easier to understand. Love the show still (as always)!
Not sure what would cause this, but the 3/21 and 3/22 episodes are not available in Podcast Player for Android, at least for me. Anyone else seeing this issue? Could be my device since it’s old, but Pugliano’s new episode appeared just fine today.
Hey Jack,
Just FYI. been listening to you on Spotify for a long time and last two episodes haven’t been uploaded there. Didn’t know if its was something on your end or there, but wanted to make you aware…
They are coming thru on downcast
I’m a little behind listening, but the term “Shred and Spread” instead of “Chop and Drop” comes to my mind!
I’m not sure if it is a term that’s been around, but I’ve never heard it before.
