Episode-2799- Paddling the Okefenokee with Leigh Murphy
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:14:20 — 17.0MB)
Leigh is an independent artist who discovered TSP when the economy crashed in 2008. Her art career has won her hundreds of awards and honors and her work is in collections on several continents and major collections as well as having numerous museum exhibitions.
She recently embarked on and successfully completed a solo paddling trip across the Okefenokee Swamp with only a sit on top kayak and the gear should could carry with it. She learned a lot about survival and life in general in that three day trip, completely alone in the wilderness. She joins us today to discuss some of those lessons.

I noticed the similarity in the song today as well. Not surprising as .38 special lead singer Donnie was the younger brother of Skynyrd front man Ronnie Van Zant. After Ronnies death, younger brother Johnny took over.
Excellent podcast. A friend and I asked the outfitter on the Buffalo River if we could rent canoes during a thunderstorm and 40 degrees. He said it depended on how big our balls were. We were young and dumb so we had to. We did a 3 day float, saw one other canoe the whole trip. Great memories. Take boxed wine. Learned to pack for your buddy if he’s not a prepper.
