Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:28:53 — 20.3MB)
Today we are back after our holiday shutdown with an episode of “Outback with Jack”. These podcasts will be generated though back porch (weather permitting) live steam sessions done early early in the morning. That will be approximately 0730-0830 CST.
These podcasts will are a lot like old school TSPC episodes on a variety of topics, many quite topical from the news and from social media. Each show will covers a bullet point list of 5-12 topics that I will handle rather rapid fire.
From there we will talk about what ever the live audience comes up with. These livestreams will then be converted to MP3s and put out in the standard TSPC Podcast feeds under the new series title of “Outback with Jack”
Today we discuss trust in media, the current state of the crypto market and we look at the recent SCOTUS rulings on vaxx mandates, city, states and nations buying Bitcoin, protests and violence from them, a bit of politics, car kill switches, cloning perennials and more.

Re: Uber and self driving cars
One thing I haven’t heard mentioned is the effect on older folks (like me) who limit their driving and don’t drive at night. Uber allows seniors in cities to get around much better without worrying about a car, while the self driving will allow seniors to stay in rural homes yet still get to those doctors, grocery stores and evening events. I personally can’t wait as my nighttime driving is now curtailed and I live 25 minutes (14 miles from town
Totally valid. I don’t talk about it a lot but if you watch videos it is pretty clear that I am all but blind in one eye. I hate driving at night in traffic, though town, etc. I actually love driving long haul on highways at night. The constant light level mitigates everything.
But driving in town with bright lights here, dark areas there, bright reflections, etc is awful for me.
Since uber became a thing I often use them when I am going to family and friends and will have to drive home in the dark. I have my reasons from birth but I guess even though I am getting older I had not thought about this from that angle, thanks. Unless I forget it will be on Friday’s show.
At one point you mention crushed willow buds for seed starting, then later you mention dissolved aspirin. Did you realise when you said it that both have salicylic acid as their active ingredient?
