Davis Chartier is originally from Upper Michigan near the border with Wisconsin. He has lived in Maine, Florida, Colorado, and Minnesota. He currently lives in Minnesota with his wife of seven years and young son.

After buying his dream 10 acres Davis and his family looked at the cost of construction in the post CoVid era.  Unwilling to go into debt for 3 decades he took his limited construction experience and a combination of DIY and acting as his own general contractor and set about building their dream home.  Today they live in a home that we built with no construction loan and did it all with very minimal construction experience.

Had a chance to watch the video and read the comments. There were some questions on if I had and ERV/HRV.
I can not stress enough on how important it is to have an air-to-air heat exchanger (ie: ERV/HRV) in modern homes. Code requires vapor barrier, people forget that a house needs to breath, an ERV replaces your stal CO2/dead skin/breath moisture filled air with new(hopefully clean) air. It is a necessity. All those spray foam sealed houses with no ERVs are a health risk.
