Here were my impressions of each.  The oatmeal was good, well for oatmeal.  I am not big on oatmeal but it was decent and most importantly not mushy.  The steel cut oats actually stand up.  The turkey chili I really liked, my wife not as much but even though it is made with turkey it really reminded me of Wolf Brand Chili a staple in Texas by the way.  The Southwest Chicken was really good, especially the meat itself, tender, moist, well seasoned.  The beef stew was good, like a solid home canned beef stew.  Again good texture and flavor on the beef.

The last one the Pasta Fagioli I had my doubts about because it is vegetarian.  It has a soy protein crumble instead of ground beef.  I am in general not only not a fan of soy meat replacements, I hate them.  I have to say if I was not told it wasn’t beef, I would never have known.  Not only did I like this one the best, so did my grandson!  Check this one minute video on Instagram out.  Folks when you can get a picky kid to happily eat backpack and emergency food, you know they are doing something right.
