What I am Looking for in a Bug Out Location – Miyagi Mornings Epi-156
If for any reason the Odysee video above does not play well for you, the back up YouTube version is here.
Every time I mention Dorothy and I are land shopping for a BOL, I get the standard question of where and why that place. I think many are looking for something akin to “Northern Idaho”, with some long explanation about natural disasters, remote populations and seasonal rainfall. My answer is far more boring.
Where – within three hours of my primary residence. Why – because it is in three hours drive of my primary residence.
Today I am going to talk about why a bug out location that is only for bugging out is beyond stupid and how function stacking should apply to any and all investments. Folks if real estate isn’t an investment, I ask you what is?
Jack: I listened to this episode and thought I would pass along a resource I found useful when I was looking for a rural property. It’s called onxmaps and it shows parcel boundaries, parcel size, landowner information and topography on a searchable map. Also helpful for finding out who owns the land near the property you are considering buying and for finding nearby public land. Here’s the website: https://www.onxmaps.com/hunt/app. You can use it on your desktop and through their phone app. I think it’s $30 per year if you just want access to one state and they have a free 7 day trial. Thought you might find it helpful.
