This topic was one that had a lot of interest on MeWe in a poll last week so we are going to take a look at it today. I want to first define what I mean by “strategic relocation” as many people have many different views on it, most are infested with their personal preference.

When I use this term for this discussion today this is what I mean….

Strategic Relocation – moving to a new location because you personally benefit in the ways most important to you as you live your life. This considers economics, personal freedom and overall life style.

That said what follows is absolutely based on my opinion and my personal preferences. The first place I look is state income tax. When I do here are…

States with No Income Tax I’d Consider

  • Texas
  • Tennessee
  • Florida
  • New Hampshire
  • Alaska
  • Wyoming
  • South Dakota

 

States with No Income Tax I Would Not Consider

  • Washington
  • Nevada

 

Then We Need to Look at Overall Goals and Considerations

  • Cost of Land/Real Estate
  • Climate
  • Total Tax Footprint
  • Republicanism inside the State
  • Employment
  • Services & Leisure
