I keep being told alternative social media is a “right wing echo chamber” and oddly by people who are not using it so they know nothing about it.  Like this little tantrum by the media and MeWe’s Founder’s epic response to it.  When it comes to MeWe what we have built is a huge community of people from the TSPC world.

We talk about all kinds of things that have nothing to do with politics at all, everything from goats to guns and back again.  So early this week, I started the Cryptocurrency Practical Discussion Group with one member me.  4 days later we have a great group of well over 500 members.

We are talking about the practical aspects of crypto and how to get started.  Some are experienced, some have a little and some are brand new.  This is a great example of social media really doing what it is meant to do.  Building relationships, allowing information to be exchanged and doing it all with zero censorship, no tracking, no spyware, no BS, etc.

So join our discussion on Crypto and if Crypto isn’t your thing, come join us on MeWe anyway.  Visit my profile and there is a pinned post at the top with over 150 comments.  Those comments are all from people willing to connect with other TSPC folks.

And since MeWe doesn’t limit how many requests I can accept, I accept 100% of all requests and then simply nuke the few idiots later just easier that way so connect with me there too.

These are all groups I or other TSP Members started with lots of active discussions that have little to nothing to do with which gang of political thugs should be in charge of our lives.  MeWe has been around a while but had a slow start.  The digital heroin of Facebook is strong, but it is clear at this point MeWe is where the momentum is.

At the beginning of 2020 MeWe had about 3 million members, today they have over 11 million.  That is incredible growth.  If you are a brand you want to be where the momentum is.  Let’s face it, if you are an American and not on Facebook yet, you are never going to be.  The growth is elsewhere and man if you are a brand, you can’t ignore this opportunity to get in early.

Finally whenever I talk about these alternatives I always get this,

I find that ironic as these people are all continuing to use facebook, while they do “it” what ever it is for them in their objection.  However, honestly I find it unlikely that you’d build a successful business on the concept of no censorship and no data collection and switch later on.  It is pretty stupid to do so with people who already have shown that they WILL LEAVE a platform.  For most folks Facebook was their first major social media platform and that is why they stay. Once you leave one, you know you can leave any.

So if MeWe or any of the alternatives ever starts doing facebook and twitter type shit, we leave and like money (which we represent to them) we go where we are treated well. Social media should be like a swarm that makes new hives whenever needed.  We go where things are good, if we get screwed we leave and rebuild.  It isn’t that hard, you don’t have to escape with machine guns being shot at you.  It isn’t the Berlin wall folks!  You just fill out a new form and tell your friends where you went.
