Will Anything in Iran Make Life Better in America – Epi-3816

I had pleasant surprise this weekend in regard to the Iran war.  Instead of taking my analysis and interpreting it as pro or anti war they simply asked, “will anything we do in Iran improve the life of the average American”.  No tribal BS, no calling me either a warmonger for Israel or a idiotic lib-tarded hippy, just an honest and important question.

I loved this question because it cuts right into the only reason we do shows like today’s.  Shows where we talk about at least some of the same things they talk about on AM radio talk shows.  And it isn’t so much will this help us or even will it hurt us as average Americans.  The real question here is, how will it effect us and hence what should we do in our lives to deal with that.

This is why I don’t care at all about the feuds between right, left, main stream and alternative media.  I don’t care about Tucker and Candice, I don’t care about Mark Levin’s micro penis or any such nonsense.  I, however, also don’t really care about improving the lives of people all over the world.  Well, at least not while our own nation rots from within and yet we act as always like a global police force.

In the end though my entire job on such things as global conflicts, foreign policy and economic impacts is one of being a dispassionate analysist when it comes to what will happen and what is to be done about it.  I of course give my opinions at times, quite forcefully.  I am also always clear about three things…

  1.  When I am expressing my opinion (especially morally)
  2.  When I am acting as a pure analysist
  3.  When I am simply reporting facts as in this thing did or did not happen

Sadly the average person hears what they want only.  And they tend to want one of two things only from a host of a podcast.  Either they want to be told what they want to hear or they want to be outraged by what they hear.  This causes analysis and factual reporting to always be lumped in with opinion.  Then to pour gas on the outrage fire, people tend to convince themselves that the podcasters opinion has some direct effect on the outcome.

This happens over and over and despite how clear I will be today about opinion vs. analysis and prediction vs. factual reporting, I expect today to be no different.

      • Iranian regional influence is weakened which stabilizes major shipping routes and reduces threats to Gulf energy transport. Score: 2
      • Global oil supply risk declines which could contribute to more stable long term energy prices. Score: 2
      • A strong military outcome deters other adversaries from pushing against U.S. interests in the near term. Score: 2
      • U.S. leverage with regional partners increases which could strengthen alliances and trade security. Score: 2
    • Negative Outcome
      • War spending expands deficits further which contributes to long term inflation and debt pressure. Score: 1
      • Regional instability disrupts oil markets which pushes fuel and transport costs higher. Score: 2
      • The conflict expands or drags on creating another prolonged military commitment. Score: 2
      • Global backlash accelerates the shift toward a multipolar world where U.S. influence declines faster. Score: 2
    • So what do we personally do with all these unknowns
      • Focus on what you can actually control like your income, skills, savings, and resilience
      • Avoid emotional decision making, fear driven financial moves or political panic rarely lead to good outcomes
      • Diversify exposure, income sources and investments do not rely on a single fragile pillar
      • Stay informed but limit consumption of news, understanding events matters but constant media exposure clouds judgment
      • Position for volatility, most panic during disruption while others use it as opportunity
      • Prioritize physical and mental health, strong people handle uncertain environments far better than weak ones
      • Think generationally, the biggest advantage often comes from decisions that compound over decades
