These things are just awesome and if you don’t have some form of emergency air compressor in all your vehicles you should really get one of these right away. There is a lot to like about these guys. First you can preset different applications to specific PSI volumes. What that means is I can set it to say 32PSI for my wife’s Truck, show her simply how to turn it on, hook it up and use it. Then all she need do is use it and it will get to the exact PSI necessary.
Next it is small, not tiny but small enough any vehicle has room for one. And frankly the ability to simply fill up a leaking tire is 99% of the time all you need to get to a place where higher level repairs can take place. Be that the tire shop or your own home, either way you are not not stuck on the road. I always teach this but changing a tire on the side of the road is bad, really dangerous and well stupid if you don’t have to. I have done it only when I had a catastrophic failure (a piece of angle iron that blew out the tire).
It is much better to get the tire aired up enough to get to a truly safe place before installing a spare. Well IF YOU EVEN HAVE ONE!
Did you know many new cars no longer come with a spare, just um, a roadside assistance card. Gee that’s just great, I will just lose 4-6 hours of my life waiting for a tow truck and repair vs. just getting back on the road. Then there are those slow leaks, I have had two on my fricken Challenger this year already. Get in the car, tire is 10 lbs low in one tire, air it up, no time for the shop, next day pressure is good, third day down 10 lbs again.
This is almost always a nail or screw or something like that. While this should be fixed ASAP the real world often says it is going to be a few days before you can get it done, and if you have no spare? I just did this last week, dam Challenger had another slow leak, got by for a few days until we had time to take it in, if the damn thing had a spare I’d of put it on, but nope. In my case I used my Viair 450P but they are expensive and I only spent that much due to the size of the tires on my F-350 and indeed if you have a really large wheeled truck or RV, I’d go with something like that.
But for everything from passenger cars up to standard trucks in the F-150, C-1500 range this will do all you need. And yes it can do it with the battery power meaning no cords to hook up or get in the way, but it can also run directly from the 12VDC cigarette style adapter that comes with it, in fact that one doesn’t even charge it, it is purely a power cable.
It also comes with a standard USB to USB-C cable, that is the charging cable. Once charged this device doubles as a battery bank to charge portable electronics like a phone or tablet. As it is standard USB it can charge anything but if you are a iPhone user or something other than USB-C devices you may want to toss a few cables in the storage case that comes with it for maximum flexibility.
As I wrap up a quick note here, I would rather you have one of the lesser units here say the 7800 or 8000 mAh ones than nothing. If you have two vehicles and going lower end puts one in both so be it. However, the largest unit doesn’t just offer more power reserve it is a better and faster compressor, so unless you can’t swig it at only 65 bucks, get the best one they make. Keep in mind a battery in the 12 mAh range is going to run you about 30 bucks just to charge devices, so you get 2 in one here.
So if you do not already have a solution for such needs in your vehicles check out the Vevor 12000 mAh Compact Emergency Air Compressor today or you may soon sit on the side of the road somewhere wishing you had done so.
