Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is a Pop-Up Mesh Laundry Hamper.  Hold on it isn’t what you think it is.  For me this thing is actually a great tool for my fishing trips.  I recently mentioned this item in my show on 15 Fishing Hacks and forgot to include a link to it so I decided to add it to TspAZ.

This thing is just great, while I am sure it will do a fine job for its intended purpose what I use it for is keeping fish or bait alive when I am bank fishing.  It is just too simple to use.  Set it in the water just a bit away from the bank, toss a couple rocks in it and you have an instant pop up live well.  With a 16 inch diameter you have plenty of room for a good quantity of fish.  At 25 inches high you can easily put it in a foot to 18 inches of water and not have your fish jumping to freedom.

As to the brand this one is fine mesh and the size I wanted.  I don’t have a lot of brand loyality but this one is used for this purpose by a number of youtube fishing channels I follow and was highly rated with over 3000 reviews and 4.5 stars.

Here are the reasons I love this thing for the application.

Folds Flat – And hence it is light weight and compact while holding a lot more bait then a conventional hard sized bait bucket.

Large Diameter – The large diameter makes it easy to toss fish into with no lid to fool with.

Fine Mesh – I used to use burlap sacks and onion sacks like this as a kid.  It was always only a matter of time before some of the small fish (bait) managed to open the mesh and escape.  Does not happen with this.

Inexpensive – At less than 20 bucks it costs less then a traditional bait bucket while working better and being easier to travel with.

Really Keeps Fish Healthy – I as I said use this for keeping bait.  I also use it for bringing fish home to stock my ponds.  And I use it to keep fish I plan to eat.  In all of those it keep fish really healthy, far more so then using a stringer.

This little item has just worked perfectly since I picked it up about a year ago.  So give the Pop-Up Mesh Laundry Hamper a shot.  Weather you use it for fishing like me or for your dirty laundry, I am sure you will be happy with it.
