Energizer Power Failure Lights – Item of the Day
Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend.
Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is the Energizer Power Failure Lights 3-Pack. This is one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner” items. I’ve had these little guys plugged in around the house for a while now, and every time the power goes out, I’m reminded why I recommend them. They’re not for camping or travel, they’re for that exact moment when everything suddenly goes black and you need just enough light to move, think, and get to your real gear.
Picture This: You’re in the shower, shampoo in your eyes, one kid is bawling in their room, another is yelling from downstairs that the TV just died, and the house has gone full blackout. That’s not the moment you want to start hunting for a flashlight. But if you’ve got a few of these plugged in around the house, at least you can see and your kids can too.
These plug directly into outlets and sit there quietly charging. Then when the power cuts out, they light up automatically. You don’t have to fumble around, trip over the dog, or feel your way to a drawer in the dark. You can see immediately, grab the light, and get moving.
Where these really shine is as part of a layered preparedness mindset. I’m not saying they’ll replace a lantern or headlamp but they don’t have to. These are your first response, your instant visibility, and your kid’s security blanket all in one. You’ll still head to your blackout kit or fire up the generator. But you’ll do it with a light in your hand, not a phone at 2% battery.
At a minimum, I’d recommend three one for a hallway, one for a bathroom, one for a bedroom. But realistically, most homes could use 4–6. Think bathrooms (especially the windowless ones), bedrooms, hallways, and your main living areas like the kitchen and living room. That’s why I’m linking to the 3-pack. It’s a better deal than singles, and right now you can get two 3-packs for under $45 total.
So give the Energizer Rechargeable Flashlight 3-Pack a shot and next time the lights go out, you’ll be glad you did.
P.S. – There is one user upset that these light “failed” after about 6 years of being plugged and actually used only one time during that period. This is a Ron White Moment! You can’t fix stupid, no Ni-MH battery on the planet in fricken AAA size has a capacity to go that long. Here is the good news, that is in fact what is in these an Ni-MH rechargeable AAA.
`
The kind you can get anywhere. You can take these apart with a phillips screw driver and 4 simple screws, pop it out, replace and go on with your life. However you run your home maintenance schedule I’d say do that problem or not every 2 -2.5 years and you won’t have any problems.
`
FWIW for this or other needs Amazon Basic Ni-MH Batteries in AAA Size are a solid ass value.
Hey Jack – the grey ones are 39% off – $18 for a 3 pack. Stupid “frugal”… ha, ha – reading your new book!
Thanks, Jack!! I’ve waited far too long to get these (remember when you first mentioned them!), but now that is solved.
