Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is Gorilla Super Glue with Brush & Nozzle Applicator.  I consider “super glue” to be similar to duct tape in a way, as in if you don’t have super glue are you even a prepper.  It is just something to useful not to have.  Yet I just learned about this version from my wonderful wife

Recently someone not accusing anyone it just was not me knocked the holding bracket to my Sous Vide Cooker off a counter onto the very hard floor.  It landed just right and cracked it almost in half with a thin bit holding it like a hinge on one side.  GREAT just what you need in a pandemic one of your most useful tools having a problem.

I asked Dorothy if we had any super glue out vs. going into my stash and she handed me a well used bottle of this.  I tried to apply it and found as often happens that the nozzle was plugged.  I was about to give it some surgery when she said, “you know that has a brush in it too right”.  I looked at her and informed her that, “no, I did not know that”.

I opened it and coupled with it being a thick gel vs. a thin fluid the fricken brush is genius.  For this repair the quick cure time was not so quick, I balanced a weight on it and left it over night.  You can see a clear line where the crack was but it is now as strong as it ever was.  If I can just keep small hands from giving it another impact test it is as good as new.

Okay so this stuff if a good idea anytime to make a home more prepared.  Every item you can fix vs. replace equals both less month spent and less down time, additionally less waste in a land fill.  Right now though this is even more the case.  Things Amazon was delivering in 1-2 days are now weeks out or not even available.  The more you can fix yourself right now the more you have for other resources.  This stuff is also shipping right now so it is easy to get before you need it.

PS – Not only does it belong in your home, it should be in your Bug Out Bag, Vehicle Kits, etc.  Much like zip ties and tarred line, super glue is an incredible workhorse.  Now that I know about this brand it is going to be my go to.
