Mine will be here Sunday. Anything that makes a hard boiled egg easier to peel … I’ll throw a 20 at it!

Hey, one thing that doesn’t appear in the instructions, how much water to use for both egg trays? Do you just double the water for 14 eggs? (Measuring cup only lists 7 as the max)

Oh, another question, do you personally pierce the shells or not?

I did 7 eggs. Machine beeped a couple of time, I turned it off. Put the eggs in ice water for about 30 minutes. They peeled almost perfectly (Ilost. Chunk out of 1 of the 7). Overall, well worth $20. Great buy.

Found the markings for mor eggs … it’s on the backside of the measuring cup! Boy, they make that obvious to the casual observer! (Not!!!)

I’m listening to epi-3594 and you mention buying a “hole poker thing” for the eg shells.

I have a different and older make/model of this type of cooker, so mine might be different but…

The bottom of the measuring cup has a built-in poker but it’s not super obvious. The base of the cup can be removed to expose the poker.

I used a push pin to pierce the narrow end of the shells. Works great. Makes eggs even easier to peel!

Theory, as eggs cool in ice water, the hole in the shell allows water to get pulled in between the membrane and the egg. This prevents the membrane from sticking to the egg and tearing the egg up when peeling.

This thing works great!!!

I didn’t like the idea of poaching the eggs in the provided plastic tray so I tried a small ramekin instead and it works great (don’t forget to spray it). Still adjusting down on the amount of water to get the correct yoke consistency.

So, the instructions do not show a “second” egg holder… I guess if you do 10 eggs then split them evenly with 5 on the bottom and 5 on the top?
