Galvanized Steel Raised Garden Bed 2 Pack – Item of the Day
Today’s Featured TspAz Item is Galvanized Steel Raised Garden Bed in a 2 pack by Plant and Plot Store for only 145 dollars.
This is a quick heads up on a good looking product not a full review. As I have said the Galvanized Metal Raised Garden Beds by Frizione became one of the best selling items on TspAz last year. They are in fact the #4 best selling item of 2023 by quantity and #1 by dollar volume despite only being featured for the first time in the 3rd week of August.
Further we sold so many that the preferred size of 8x4x2 feet deep seems stuck in low inventory and hence an extremely inflated price. I have heard from a lot of folks seeking an alternative as the Frizone ones are a great deal when on sale and a good deal at the normal retail of 145 bucks but at the current price over $180.00 they are just not really cost effective.
This item today is by a different company but let’s be honest it is hard to mess up something like this. This item has a 4.6 star rating with over 200 reviews so I am more than comfortable recommending it. The big differences are these are only 1 foot deep, which is plenty for most applications and requires far less fill. They are also sold as a set of two. The price is only 145 bucks for again a set of two or about 72 bucks a piece.
This is a really great deal and while I personally prefer higher beds many of you may find these right for your application and at 75 bucks a piece the price is right, they are in stock and ship free. I will finish with the fact that there are a lot of different versions of these things. Many sizes, shapes and depths. While I feel really confident in Frizione after selling so many with all positive feed back, again this is something hard to do wrong. So if you find a size, shape, etc. that suits. your needs from anyone with good reviews I say go for it.
One caution is this, many of them have a LOT OF OPTIONS, some even come in colors. Be sure if you change your options you are looking at the same dimensions for the application you want to fill.
That said if you are okay with a 1 vs. 2 foot depth this set of two is a damn solid deal and most of you will do just fine with 1 foot deep beds and it will save you money on fill as well. So check out the Galvanized Steel Raised Garden Bed 2 Pack from The Plant and Plot Store today.
Honestly the only reason I personally would not use these is 20 inches is my minimum height to defeat ducks from invading my beds.

P.S. – These go together differently than the Frizione ones. A few reviewers seemed to have issues it involved the support rods. Each pair goes in opposite each other. If you check the photos for the reviews you will see one that explains it and says the company responded to the customer with a youtube video for assembly as well, so good support there. I found the companies YouTube Channel and figure it is this video the reviewer mentioned. Digging into it, it appears these beds can be assembled in various configurations as well and the entire system is modular. Very cool may have to reach out to these folks. If you want to check out their full store, it is here.
P.S.S. – Let’s do a bit of math on using pressure treated lumber which works well but will have a significantly shorter life then using galvanized metal. To build a 4×8 bed from 2x6x8 lumber will require 6 boards. My current pricing at Lowes near me would mean that cost is 45.00 in just lumber. You can’t just look at the boards and mind meld them together so toss in 5-10 bucks a bed in good quality screws. Call it 55 a piece, so you can. build two from lumber for about 110 bucks or have 2 made from steel that will last a much longer time for 145. You don’t have to go to the box store, you don’t have to haul or cut lumber, etc. And it will likely take no longer to assemble the panels then it would to cut and screw the boards together and they will ship to your house at no additional cost. Oh FWIW is you are going to build from lumber these are the screws I recommend for that.
