Today I am joined by Joshua Longbrook who established a food club and hub in Chattanooga, TN as a means to building a parallel society where food freedom and self sovereignty are respected. Join us today as Joshua lays out the blueprint for how they made it happen.
Joshua helps run a food club and hub for alternative systems in Chattanooga, TN. The focus is building out a functional parallel society based on voluntary interaction and outside of the mainstream systems. They have built a local alternative food system sourcing naturally raised food and products and aim to provide the majority of their members’ grocery and related needs on a weekly basis. The food club is set up as a PMA and a ministry of The Agora, a Christian ministry.
The Agora is modeled after the original Church which had its own disagreements with the culture and government and religious institutions of its day. Instead of fighting the system or joining it or reforming it or just complaining and philosophizing about it, the Church chose to build out a parallel society- their own courts, their own welfare system, educating their own kids, etc. The Agora seeks to do the same in our modern age, focusing on food, health, and education. They host bible studies as well as educational classes, a local agorist meetup, a Bitcoin meetup, gardens, and more.
Joshua also has a small farm where they raise premium pork with Meishan pigs as well as an assortment of poultry, a small orchard, a chinampa garden system, and much more. They homeschool their kids and aim to live out their agorist principles through these endeavors. He also has his own podcast, Our Foundations that traces the evolution of the systems of our society and analyzes historical patterns, biblical principles, and agorism among other topics.

George Washington was a Christian. He may not have been a conventional Christian, but he prayed 2 hours a day looking for guidance in his battles.
I know that libertarians are adverse to voting, but voting hardly seems like political involvement as it a just an hour or less to go to a polling place maybe every 2 or 4 years. The Bible says to pray for the countries leaders also. In the case of some, perhaps I would pray that they realize the need for repentance
