I have been thinking lately about how they can use a free money program, like they did with COVID, to get people to voluntarily go along with CBDC’s.
Say, we have a really bad recession and millions lose their jobs, the Government could easily enact a UBI program, using CBDC, and make qualification for the UBI predicated upon agreeing to be paid in CBDC, both from UBI and from future private employment. Most people would jump on it to get the free money, and once enrolled you are contractually obliged to stay in it, or be subject to repaying the free money you have received.
My observation has been that government often tests things before rolling them out, and this would explain why it gave away all that money during COVID.
I would like to hear your thoughts about this scenario…
