Sometimes it’s loud. And a lot of the time it comes from people who genuinely care about you but have no clue what you’re really working on. Add in pressure from the market or audience, and it gets messy fast. It can be hard to tell what’s worth listening to and what needs to be ignored completely.

Friction isn’t always bad. Sometimes it exposes weak spots you should tighten up. But a lot of it is just noise. People reacting, not thinking. If you don’t learn how to filter it, you’ll waste time fixing things that aren’t broken. Worse, you’ll start doubting the path you’re on for no good reason.
