Your analysis of HB1 visas seems pretty close to what I would think is going on. In some other show that you did that was maybe 8 or 10 years ago and you were talking about HB1 visas, what you said back then I didn’t agree with.
I’ve known many people trying to find high tech jobs and the market has been very lousy. I know a guy who has been in high tech for many years and is working for a company were the working conditions are apparently going down the tubes. There is also the AI factor now. They won’t give you a take home coding assignment to assess your skills because they think you may use AI so instead they ask a zillion of the most difficult questions that you are supposed to know all of the answers off the top of your head
I find it frustrating but there’s not much I can do except hope it changes. I would probably take a job that pays fairly less than what I used to make even but they probably look at my resume and decide that I have too much experience
