So once again thumbing their noses at the American People the Congress and the Senate have passed another huge “bail out” and this time called it a stimulus. I am fed up and I have a few ideas for what we can start doing about it. I am asking today for your collective ideas for LEGAL civil disobedience and statements to remind these assholes, who they work for.

Thanks for the links, I contacted the three you listed as well as my “usual suspects.” I also agree with your comparison with what you could buy with that money. The numbers are off, but the magnitude is real. So far, money lent, guaranteed and insured could have paid off 90% of all US mortgages or given $1400 to every person on the planet. We are truly a single party political system and my belief is that is what Americans need to realize. Don’t fight across the aisle, fight across the country against DC.

To me, this feels like a very premeditated attack, not only on our nation but on the entire civilized world as we know it. I’m anything but a tin-foil hat guy, but I think there’s a lot more going on here than anybody truly understands.
My natural optimism is quickly fading. Not sure we’re coming out of this one…

Nice one Jack – I’m an avid listener from New Zealand – far away yet still close enough for our market to be affected significantly by the USA’s poor and ill designed allocation of TARP funds/stimulus package – whatever name you want to give it.
I thought I would add salt to the wound and point out another revenue stream the US would of made from the wind-farms, these being tradable carbon permits.
There is a functional 60 Billion carbon market trading, swapping and creating all manner of financial instruments from emission reductions made from such technologies as wind farms.
This market is estimated to reach USD2 Trillion by 2020.
Based on your analysis, all those kWs equate to approximately 21, 000,000, 000 MW (Megawatts).
Using the average coefficient of US grid energy production (.61kg CO2 per kWh) this creates 12, 810, 000, 000 tradable permits/carbon credits.
Currently the spot price for Certified Emission Reductions (tradable Kyoto compliant carbon credits) is EUR9.
Even if only 0.01% of the emission reductions ended up available for trade it would still add 11.5 Billion profit to your ROI.
More opportunities wasted due to your politicians lack of fundamental care and respect for anyone but their own circle of cronies.

The Pickens Plan would cost $17 billion a year for ten years and would replace the 22% of our electricity that comes from natural gas with wind energy. The gas could then be used for transportation. They claim natural gas saved would be about $300 billion a year for the life of the turbines.

Vote on Stimulus Bill Delayed!
Call Congressional Leaders NOW and Demand They Defend E-Verify!!
There is still time to make a difference! Last night FAIR heard from sources on the Hill that Leaders in the House and Senate had deliberately stripped both E-Verify amendments from the Stimulus Bill (H.R.1). This means that the nearly trillion dollar spending bill will likely create as many as 300,000 jobs for illegal aliens using taxpayer money. It is outrageous that Congressional leaders would deliberately remove provisions that would protect American workers while unemployment is skyrocketing.
However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has just announced that the vote on the Stimulus Bill will be delayed until at least tomorrow (Friday). This gives us one more day to call House and Senate Leadership and demand that they include both E-Verify amendments in the Stimulus Bill. These amendments do the following: (1) reauthorize E-Verify for five years, and (2) require all businesses and contractors receiving taxpayer-funded stimulus money to use E-Verify.
THERE IS NO TIME TO LOSE! Please call House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and tell them:
Going after employers who hire illegal workers is the key to returning legitimacy to our immigration system.
E-Verify, a voluntary program, is one of the most effective tools employers have to help ensure their workforce is legal. This program is set to expire March 6th and must be reauthorized immediately as part of the Stimulus Bill.
It is completely outrageous and a betrayal of the American worker for Congress to pass a $1 trillion jobs bill without requiring employers who receive taxpayer money to use E-Verify. Congress must require that all recipients of stimulus money use E-Verify.

I called all of PA representatives. 90% of Specters phone lines in all areas were busy. The issue is that according to Rush Limbaugh the lobbyists got the law before congress!!!
