Today on The Duck Chronicles Episode Seventeen – Let’s Check Out the Homestead Scene
Today on The Duck Chronicles Episode Seventeen – Let’s Check Out the Homestead Scene we see the ducks just continuing to grow. They have now been outside for 7 strait nights with great weather. A cool snap in on the way but nothing they can’t handle.
If you look you will notice the tawny colors of their patterns are starting to fill in. Again if you want to see what they look like as adults go here, http://bit.ly/1DFaBot They are not snow white like Pekins, but sort of tawny like a very white version of a Buff Duck (aka Buff Orpington)
Today I also respond to questions about putting drains in the kiddy pools and to suggests about the fencing. I take you for a short property tour to show you more fencing progress and show you what exactly I mean when I say rock in reference to my property.
For those wanting a better understanding of my property you can see the design of the property written up here, https://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/docs/3-4-acre-ff.pdf
Today we also have our first adjunct video, Charlie the defender has killed a pretty big rat!
Jack:
I just want to tell you how much I enjoy the duck chronicles. Very cool!
Thanks.
Vic
Jack…can you talk about what you are currently feeding the mature ducks that you have, and what the ducklings will be fed when they are 1. Released into the pens on their own and 2. what they’ll eat when they are fully grown and are egg producing for you.
Can they forage enough from your land in bugs and grass that you don’t have to feed them extra meal or do you have to still feed them ‘something’ every day.
Also…if the geese are destructive, and only lay a few eggs, how come you’re keeping them ?? What benefit are they providing to nine-mile-farm ?
LOVE the Duck Chronicles.
