Bad Ass Deal on Grow Lights – TspAz Deal of the Day
Hat tip to James White who has helped me a lot over the years with techniques and product recommendations for hydroponics and aquatics. James is the guy that told me about Barrina Grow Lights. Since that time I have sold literal 10s of thousands of them. People use them for indoor hydro, starting plants, supplemental green house lights in winter, etc.
The consensus from my audience has been is they may not be the highest end lights out there but they are bang for the buck the best deal there is. Well until now! Barrina like most companies selling stuff like this is a reseller not a distributor. We just found the exact lights at an even better price point in both the 2 and 4 foot options. These are 8-packs of light really driving down the unit cost to stupid cheap level.
The brand is Kihung but they are the exact same lights. James wrote me this weekend and said…
“The ‘brand’ label is Kihung, but they are the same as the Barrina ‘brand’. I have these intermixed with Barrinas. They use the same connectors, clips, etc. The only difference is the name on the sticker and Kihung sells in 8 packs vs. 6 packs.
That spells deal and how good of a deal you ask? Right down they have both sizes on sale….
- 8 Packs of 2′ Lights are 69.99 (8.75 per light)
- 8 Packs of 4′ Lights are 109.99 (13.75 per light)
If you have been looking to build out an indoor hydro project or a plant starting system I would get these today. Lights of this quality were 40-60 dollars a piece or more just a few years ago. A lot of things are inflationary but tech tends to be quite deflationary. With just a few batches or started plants or hydroponic salad these guys pay for themselves fast.
P.S. – Note you can learn more about these lights in my original article about the Barrina lights. Again they are the same lights. Also note that old article has “pink lights” vs. the white color of these. Both are full spectrum and I, James and many of the audience have trialed the white and pink lights side by side, with zero difference in performance. I personally prefer white lights at this point, they send less of a “I’m growing the sacred herb” vibe out your windows to neighbors and John Law.
Thanks for the heads up on the 8 pack of lights, I purchased two sets last night to add to my existing Barrina lights. I’m growing my own greens now thanks to inspiration from your show.
