What Would a Virtual Nation be Like

I did my Miyagi Mornings video as a live stream today.  One viewer when asked at the end about ideas for today’s podcast suggested say how to vet new people coming into things like “Freedom Cells”.  This is a valid concern, there are definitely operatives attempting to infiltrate groups and worse instigate bad actions of said groups.

I will talk about some of that today but I want to have a more broad discussion about the virtual nation concept I have been discussing in one way or another since at least Sept. of 2014 when I did my first fully dedicated podcast about the concept.  It was called, Episode-1428- Libertas a Virtual Nation.

I have revisited the topic several times since then both in parts and in full shows.  Then yesterday I asked the question “are Virtual Nations already here” and just in a different form then my original concept.  This was spurred on by a podcast I listed to on Peter McCormack’s podcast “What Bitcoin Did” specifically “Bitcoiners Control the World with David Bailey“.

Much of that podcast was focused on the Bitcoin Miami Conference and how big it really was.  Miami was essentially taken over by Bitcoiners and almost everything truly high end (High End Establishments, Private Jets, Super Yachts for parties) was “eaten by whales”.

Sure it was being hyped some, but not that much it was basically what ended up happening (that podcast was before the event had yet happened) but it got me thinking and looking around and wondering, are the virtual nations already forming.   Are some already here, just too young to really see from the outside yet.

    • The crypto spaces as a whole (think commerce and DEXs combined)
    • Religious organizations (churches) and can this be leveraged?
    • First People’s tribal systems (currently called nations)
  • The issues these do not address or do not fully address
    • Freedom of travel
    • Local codes, laws, ordinances
    • Federal laws and restrictions
  • How would you vet people in any of these options
  • The real question is why so much resistance to a “test bed” for total and complete freedom?
