Episode-2745- Fishing Creeks, Ditches, Park Ponds and More

The picture below is a beautiful little spot I just found using one of the methods I will give you in today’s show. While I have not fished it yet, I already know it will be productive and I even just ordered a “Karen Kart” to deal with how far the location is from parking.
I did some fishing as well this weekend mostly to get some stock for a new micro AP system built on a fish aquarium and picked up a few more really cool fish for some of my back yard ponds.
As I thought I about this I realized how many people struggle with good places to fish especially if they are not boat owners. The reality is while you generally won’t be catching monsters (there are exceptions) some of the most consistent fishing is in very small bodies of water for a few reasons I will explain in today’s show.

What was the knot you said to learn? I was driving and can’t find by skimming the episode. Also what swivel do you recommends and size.
Palmer Knot here is one video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWUuBD0QqOo
I use this knot 90% of the time. The only time I do use it is for specialty knots like say a stand off loop or a snell loop or in splicing lines together where mostly I’d use a blood knot.
When it comes to terminal tackel, ie a hook a snap swivel, a lure, etc. I would say I use it 99% of the time, the only time I don’t is when 2X line diameter won’t go in the hole.
Example I recently ordered some small wire circle hooks, really cool ones here ( https://flefly.com/product/bait-boss-light-wire-circle-hook/ )
I was tying up some snells with them with 12lb fluorocarbon and the line just won’t fit in the eye doubled so I went to a conventional clinch knot. Other than that it is the easiest knot to tie I know of that is also super strong. I have tested it and the line itself always goes before the knot.
