If you don’t like the weather in Southern California, just wait a year. It will be exactly the same! 🙂

Michael Jordan "The Bee Whisperer"

I wanted to say, if you as using the name bee guru, I was not pointing a finger at you. I was using the turm in general.
I was given the name bee Whisperer by the discovery channel for putting cell phones in bee hives. Like reaching out to touch some one. I like Michael Jordan. Wanted to say I am not bashing good keepers.

Jack,

Are you ever planning on having Erica Strauss on as a guest for an entire show? I know that guest are supposed to fill out a form, but it might be a good idea to contact her and get her on. She really does a great job. Just a thought.

Thank you Caduckgunner – that’s very kind of you to say.

There’s an old joke about a guy constantly praying to God to win the lottery. He prays and prays to win the lottery but never does. Finally, as an old man, the guy dies and goes to heaven. He storms through the Pearly Gates, mad as hell. “All I wanted was to win the lottery!” the guy yells at God. “I prayed and prayed!” God looks at the guy and says, “Yeah, I heard all your prayers. But you coulda met me half-way and bought a ticket.”

Of course I’d be honored to be a guest on TSP. But I think my chances might be better if I meet Jack half-way and buy a ticket. 😉 I’ll fill out the guest application form as soon as Jack and Dorothy open it back up – as I understand it, they are not currently accepting submissions for new guests.

Erica! Erica! The crowd wants a show with Erica! Maybe you can refine that episode search tool so it can point to all the Erica answers? It would be like a ‘Erica compilation’!

Every time you are on I have a mental reaction thought of “that lady is on! Better get my notebook! Prepare to be mind blown with info!” I mean that in a good way. I’ve wondered if it could be possible to break down each part of these Friday episodes into individually downloadable segments so we can save and identify just the parts that we want to remember. I’ve saved every Friday expert council so far.

Matthew in Gooseneck, Ga

Jack where in the world did you find Erica? I woke up one day and she was on the expert council. She needs her very own hour and a half. Erica you should do your own podcast. I would certainly listen

Also Jack I agree with you on the state of today’s music. All of my pre sets are classic country, classic rock and talk.
I am loving the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Can I make a request to put one of their songs at the end of your show?

I’d like to hear Gary clarify what pepsin is vs Pepcid. I think he may have said on the show that pepsin blocked acid production.

I read that Pepsin is an enzyme whose zymogen (pepsinogen) is released by the chief cells in the stomach and that degrades food proteins into peptides. You can buy Betaine HCL with pepsin to increase stomach acid to help digest food. Versus Pepcid is a H2 blocker which does the opposite, Famotidine works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.

I have a problem with low acid production and have problems with digesting gluten, dairy, legumes & eggs which causes an issue with my auto-immune disorder.

Thanks Rex

Matthew, for some reason I can’t reply directly, so I hope you see this. Thanks for your kind words. I did a podcast as an experiment for about 6 episodes. (It’s called Grow Edible if you want to track down the episodes.) Here’s what I learned: it’s hard as heck, and just takes a ton of time to research, record and produce a podcast. The fact that Jack does a show more or less daily without a staff is, frankly, amazing. I really don’t know how he does it. I really enjoyed my podcast experiment, but it’s something I could only do regularly once my kids are a bit older.

As long as we are wading through the classic rock memories of songs we thought were awesome, but now interpret the lyrics from a new perspective, how about The Who and their song “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.”

Chef Snow mention he would put that bbq recipe here. I liked the idea of fruit based, never seen that before. Was wondering how he might do it berry based(like blue berries or even muscodines grapes both of which are local to me), and what about using habanero chilies?

DJ Spirko in the house lol.

Of course we can’t forget that homeschooler’s fave, “Another brick in the wall.”

Late to comment I know, but I’m getting caught up. When you mentioned Pink Floyd after Paul’s segment I just knew that you were going to play Shine on you crazy diamond

I listened to the call about acid reflux/GERD. I agree about his answers to help the man, but he left out the only solution that worked for me. After many, many years of the same problem and solutions I happened to tell my chiropractor about my issue. He then proceeded to demonstrate how to close my mechanical problem with the stomach valve. At first I was closing it daily, but now four years later, I only close it once a week. I only notice the need when I first lay down to go to bed, as a tend to tank up with a glass of water at that time. I can feel the water flow up my esophagus. I then sit up and close the valve. Presto, no more burning. I still eat what I like, such as nuts and the other things the primal power guy said, but only because my issue was mechanical only.
