Today its Friday so it’s time for expert council show. To ask a question for a show like this, just send an email to me at jack at thesurvivalpodcast.com with “TSPC Expert” in the subject line.

Today the expert council answers questions on vehicles, detoxing, cryptocurrency, websites, cooking, politics and more.

In the body of your email first tell me the council member your question is for. Second ask your question concisely in one to two sentences maximum. Third any and all details after that. This is the formula to give you the best chance of getting on the air.

I do what I can to get as many of your questions as possible on the air but can’t always get to all of them. Our council is made of a wide variety of experts in everything from the tactical to the practical and everything in between.

  1. If coinbase isn’t going to pocket the BCC, then they are going to be leaving a MAJOR F*CK TON of money on the table. Maybe they didn’t want to bother with the extra work to their web site and back end to add another currency (benefit of a doubt), but there is no way that someone working there isn’t going to pocket the ungodly amounts of unclaimed BCC that will naively be given away by all of their customers who don’t have a full enough understanding of what is going on.

    A few days ago, I included myself in that group. But for some reason that ‘not going to give you the split’ notice tweaked that part of my brain that warns me when something is up. So I’ve studied hard this last week and now moved everything to my own software wallet at home. Now whatever happens, I have options.

    Even more importantly, due to all this new studying, I now have growing doubts about the current segwit BTC. The concerns that are leading to the fork into BCC sound pretty valid. More research is needed, but the current state of BTC and how it got to where it is could be the result of the defensive attacks from the reserve banks that I was always expecting since several years ago when BTC started building momentum and topped $1 USD exchange rate.

  2. I’ve had a lot of loss in my life recently, and going through things that were once treasured, only to find out their actual “worth”, was surprisingly depressing. I was struggling with that Jeep question for a while, wondering if it would be a similar situation. In the end, I decided “what the heck”, and sent it in.

    I can’t thank Charles enough for his thoughtful, considered response. It really made my day to hear him take it seriously the way he did, and to hear him acknowledge the sentimental value there. Something like that can really help set you right when you’re having a bad week, and it really did for me.

    Per Charles’ suggestion, I’m going to try to document the process on my website. I don’t have the best track record with updates, but I’ll be documenting as best I can as I go through this (long) process.

  3. Regarding the link between aluminium and Alzheimer’s, it’s not so much aluminium causing Alzheimer’s, but rather Alzheimer’s causing aluminium.

    The brain contains something called the blood-brain barrier which keeps nasties such as heavy metals out of the precious brain. Alzheimer’s compromises this barrier, causing contaminants such as aluminium to leak in. Early autopsies of Alzheimer’s brains regularly showed aluminium deposits, so it was an easy enough mistake to make in the beginning.
