Compost, Cover and Char – Epi-3604
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:34:20 — 27.0MB)
Today we look at building long term and regenrative soils using my three pronged approach of…
- Build
- Increase
- Hold
`
To accomplish this we employ three super stars of soil health.
- Bioactive Compost – The Builder
- Cover Crops and Mulch – The Increaser
- Biochar – The Keeper
`
While all three of these play a role in each area, they each are total rock stars of their niche. By combining them and implementing them we can build soils that will grow more than you ever though you could and last longer then you ever believed possible.

Are snails in my worm farm bad? Can I still use the castings in my garden or will it introduce snails to my garden beds.
I started my worm bin with nightcrawlers from outside and unknowingly introduced snails. Everything is living harmoniously in the worm bin but it’s got tons of snails.
Snails and garden plants seem like a bad idea, but since they came from my property anyway I guess the snails were already there.
What would you do?

Actually, I have a LOT of snails in my yard, too, and am trying to figure out some way to keep them from eating the strawberries.
