Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend.

Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day are NoCry Cut Resistant Gloves.  Let me ask you a question, have you ever cut yourself while slicing food or carving wood or anything like that.  Now assuming isn’t something really bad isn’t your first thought, “damn how much is this going to screw up my life/job/projects/workouts/etc until it heals?

Okay so say you just had one of those oh shit I cut myself moments.  Say a genie appeared and said for 12 bucks I will touch your finger and it will be as if the cut would never happen.  Assuming your were not hallucinating, how quick would you hand over 12 bucks?

Got your attention?  Okay so this 12 dollar pair of gloves could have just made that cut not happen.  These things fit nice and tight, they are food grade and are EN388 level 5 cut resistant.  Most cuts to the hands and fingers are not severe but they are highly inconvenient.  Many are just bad enough to require a trip to the ER which always ruins your day and costs a lot of money.

There are also at times severe consequences to a cut to the hand or fingers.  I know three people who had life altering consequences of such a cut.  Two were physicians and one a musician, all three had cuts severe enough to end their careers.  And to think a 12 dollar pair of gloves may have stopped that.

A word of caution, if you buy gloves like this and do what this guy did, you are an idiot!  Mind you he didn’t cut himself but he is still a moron!  Gloves like this are cut resistant, not cut proof.  What I can say is if you use these gloves and use common sense in your cutting work and respect the blade, odds are a slip will result in no cut vs a cut without them.  If you do manage to cut through them some how, well then your cut will likely be a lot less severe than had you not been wearing them.

Remember we prepare for disasters, emergencies, injuries, etc. but our best means of preparedness is prevention!  Consider that if you are in a even say 3 day grid down scenario due to say storms, how much more of a burden that is with a bad cut in your index finger.   So pick up a pair of these for each member of the family.

And here is a bonus, they are universal, there is no left and right side.  So when using them for cutting you only really need one for your off hand.  That means a pair will last twice as long and you will always have one if you wash one or something like that.

Trust me guys and gals, NoCry Cut Resistant Gloves are something that really should be part of the prevention sector of your preparedness lifestyle.  At 12 bucks a pair they are about the cheapest form of “health insurance” you can get!
