Pork King Good Pork Rind Breadcrumbs – Item of the Day
Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend.
Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is Pork King Good Pork Rind Breadcrumbs available in “Original Flavor“, “Italian Flavor” & “Spicy Cajun“. Of the three I have tried Original and Italian and like both. The Spicy ones are likely good but I just have not tried them yet.
Strait up the one thing to know using these is their main flavor other than pork of course is salt. They are not over salty but salty enough that you should factor their salt into your recipes. In other words taste as you go and dial your seasoning back a bit on the salting.
Of course these are awesome for those of us on a keto/carnivore lifestyle. You can literally sub them in for anything you would bread with bread crumbs at a 1 to 1 ratio. And they are absorbent enough that that would include things like say a meat loaf or meat ball calling for crumbs as a binder, or say crab cakes. You always say YES to crab cakes.
I know what you are thinking why bother with a jar of these just grind up some pork rinds and call it a day right? Well that’s what Dorothy and I were doing until we found these. Thing is when you grind up an entire bag you get a very tiny amount of crumbs. This led us to not using them very often. Bluntly it was expensive.
Now a jar of these is 12 bucks and it would take several bags to get the volume here. Translation these actually save money and they are perfectly ground for the application. Those of you not on keto will LOVE these things anyway but those on keto this opens up so many options.
Last night I made wings, in addition to my usual seasoning I coated them with these, popped them in the air fryer setting in my oven for 30 minutes at 375 then upped it to 425 for 15 more minutes. My wife said and I quote, “just make them exactly like this from now on”.
We are also big on sliders. I do them both beef only and beef-pork mix. This weekend I made some with bison, bacon, blue cheese and poblano peppers for my buddy David and they blew him away. Here was the basic recipe…
- 2 lbs of bison ground (could be beef etc)
- 1/2 pack of bacon sliced in thin strips
- blue cheese crumbles (enough so there is a good amount in any slider)
- pork rind crumbs (I used about 4 TBS)
- 1 poblano pepper diced seeds removed
- 3 bantam eggs (one regular egg)
This is all mixed and should be left to sit for at least an hour or so. Overnight is ideal in the fridge of course. Form into sliders about 2 oz each. Cook on a griddle or hot carbon steel pan till crisp. My buddy loved these and so did my wife. These are simple but bluntly this is chef level stuff when you follow my recipe and technique on them.
We are now wondering what else we can do. Perhaps a keto onion ring, I do worry a bit about cling with stuff like that but I have some “Grandmaw Spirko” tricks to tell you about on air today for getting breading to really stick well. Anyway if you want delicious crunch in your life try these. Like I said if your not keto they are delicious anyway, if you are this is the crunch you’ve been missing from your life. Again you can get Original, Italian or Spicy, the choice is yours.

Note – On the brand these are just the ones I am using so I can vouch for them. This is something pretty tough to do wrong so if you see a brand you want to try instead go for it. I chose these because they had good reviews and are generally available for quick shipping. We use them a lot now so I am sticking to the unless they are not available for some reason. Also like I said, I really like the coarseness of the grind on these and how uniform it is. Better than I was ever able to do with a Nutri Ninja.
I love these; I slice Japanese eggplant into circles, dip in beaten egg, then flip these a couple of times into parmesian pork rind. Bake 15 min in 400 degree oven, turn over bake another 10 min…. wow
