Don’t forget it has a removable wall tap screw allowing you to screw it down to most outlets keeping it in place.

Jack, To paraphrase my favorite pod caster, this thing is “frickin’ awesome”. The nightlight is just bright enough to not trip over the cat but won’t keep you awake. Ordering 5 more in ten min.

This looks like a great product, but here is my PSA for the day: Most (if not all) affordable surge protectors have a very finite live span. The component which absorbs the spikes (MOV) wears out after so much energy (joule rating), at which point it becomes useless and passes on anything that hits it.

If you have a surge protector that is many years old, or if you know it took a big spike for some reason, it should be replaced. Especially if it’s protecting mission-critical gear.

Working at a technology integrator, we’re pretty much guaranteed to take multiple emergency calls after a big storm regarding fried equipment that people thought was protected.

I have this, or some variant, and it’s awesome.

Matt, is there a way to tell or test if a surge protector is worn out?

I will send one with my son for his college dorm room.

Stop using those carcinogenic plug in deodorizers! Nasty stuff. Use some essential oils in a vaporizer instead.
