Walkerswood Traditional Jamaican Jerk Seasoning – Item of the Day — 5 Comments

  1. I’ve been a huge fan of Walkerwood Jerk for many years. I especially love making jerk pork. Thanks Jack for the tip on pimento wood chips I’ll get some of that for sure. my next batch of jerk pork will the next best thing to eating in Jamaica

  2. I marinated a pork tenderloin in the mild variety yesterday and put it on the grill today until it reached about 140.  I tried to get a little more crisp on the outside and put it on the hot side of the grill and that tore off some of the coating, so I stopped my madness.  I wrapped it in foil to let it rest until I was ready to cut.  Man, that is some good stuff.  Not sure if my family would enjoy the spicier version or not, but anyone who hasn’t tried this I highly recommend it.  Thanks Jack.

  3. That stuff is amazing but hott means HOTTTTTT. Ifs great in burgers too just mix it with your ground meat before making patties.

    • Yea I learned the hard way. Long ago when I used it they didn’t have a mild. So I got the hot. I am pretty sure the current mild is the old one that was just Jerk Seasoning and the hot is kicked up, not that the mild is kicked down.

  4. Just FYI, when I was in Washington state last month I had seen this Walkerswood (Hot version) at the local Walmart, with one jar costing somewhere around $4 (10 oz bottles just like on Amazon). I don’t know why the Amazon version costs so much more, but until their prices go down to something resembling reasonable you all may want to check your local Walmart to see if you can buy it for far less.
