Mostly what we hear about AI right now is really only about one or two major impacts. The first is the classic it is going to take all our jobs type fear mongering. This is pretty common with just about any and all emergence of a truly disruptive technology. The second is essentially “AI is going to cure cancer”. Of course it goes into all aspects of medicine but cancer grabs the most attention.
How big will those two impacts be? Likely larger than the people who wave them off can imagine. Yet at the same time likely a lot less than the “true believers” are claiming. Yet there are some clear paths in the AI space right now that make a lot of sense long term with almost no discussion of them.
Think about the fact that anyone can already roll out a custom AI agent right now. You can literally have a conversation with AI about what you want a custom agent to do, then it will write the code for you to drop in. All you do is name it and perhaps mod just a bit of what you really want from it. Drop the code in and hit save. I have agents for aiding with my writing, aiding with my cooking, finding me verified sources, do my proof reading and I even custom built one as a homestead adviser for small properties.
I know some just read that and thought, “oh sure technical people like Jack can do that”. I am going to tell you there is a bit of skill needed to get the exact type of results you are looking for but it only takes a bit of time discussing things with AI to built these agents. I’ll talk more about the how and why today but the bigger thing is, what if the plan was always to have them built for us? Confused? Wait it gets more complex.
Billionaires have been forecasting “an AI agent for everyone” for quite awhile. Mark Zuckerberg just announced for instance that he is building a custom AI Agent to help him be a better CEO. But he also “wants everyone inside and outside his company to eventually have his or her own personal artificial-intelligence agent.” Elon Musk has been pushing the idea of an Optimus Robot in every home heavily for a few years now. Of course the plan is for Optimus to be fully AI driven as well. Now you have a custom AI agent that can also move your laundry from the washer to the dryer for you.
This all sounds like AI serving man, but of course it is really all about who controls the technology isn’t it? What if “Custom Agents” become the way we in general handle just about anything. Education, job training, job supervision and more? If that happens how long before humanity is controlled by AI? Or more accurately how long before we are controlled in a situation where AI is the proxy of those who control AI?

- It isn’t prediction it is planning
- It is highly likely to happen, just not exactly the way they say it will
- It is best to ignore what they are saying loudly and read between the lines
- What a “custom AI for everyone” could look like
- Default compliance, once it is everywhere, it is used by everyone for everything
- Fragmentation. Personal, corporate, and state AI agents competing and conflicting with each other
- The iPhone Model – Devices running various agents with a holistic approach
- Everyone will have to have access to technology, the billionaire case for UBI
