The Survival Podcast Posted on October 23, 2023 by Jack SpirkoOctober 23, 2023

Fall hurricane season is here, then winter is closer than you think.  This generator is on sale again, at $339 with free shipping.  Heads up if you need a back up generator The WEN 56200i Super Quiet Inverter Generator is on sale.  Note I do not recommend this unit as you primary generator but at this price if you simply don’t have one you may want to get it anyway.  If you do have one primary back up generator remember 2 is one and one is none. This is a solid generator offering 2000 starting watts and 1600 running watts.  … Continue reading →

Heads Up on a Hell of a Deal on a Bad Ass Briggs & Stratton Inverter Generator

The Survival Podcast Posted on May 5, 2022 by Modern SurvivalMay 9, 2022

NOTE – This deal has expired.  If/when it returns I will let you know. If you asked me my biggest mistake when I got into prepping I would say it was that I did not instantly buy a large powerful generator.  I corrected that really fast and over the years I have to say the prep in my life that has paid off the most times has been my generators.  Storms happen, electric companies underestimating a cold snap happen, trucks and back hoes hit power poles and lines. Now this particular generator is not cheap and it is not something … Continue reading →

Deal Alert – Champion 2000-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Ultralight Generator

The Survival Podcast Posted on September 8, 2021 by Modern SurvivalSeptember 8, 2021

Not a full item of the day write up today and full disclosure unlike almost everything I feature on TspAz I don’t own this item.  Let me say though if I didn’t own multiple generators already, I’d buy this one today. The Champion 2000-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Ultralight Generator is on sale today for 444 dollars and change.  I endorse this generator fully.  While I don’t own this one I have huge respect for the quality of Champion Generators and run one for a long time when I was an RV owner and it never let me down. Dual fuel … Continue reading →

Great Deal on a Good Generator – 205 Bucks and Free Shipping

The Survival Podcast Posted on May 20, 2020 by Modern SurvivalMay 20, 2020

Not an official TspAz Item of the day but this just came on my radar.  The Dirty Hand Tools 800 Watt Gas Powered Inverter Generator is on sale on Amazon today for 205.33 with free shipping on Prime. This is essentially the same generator as the famous Sportsman’s Generator I have mentioned before when it was on sale.  I own that one, again they are the same thing, different colors is all.  This is not a GREAT GENERATOR but it is a good generator for around 300 bucks and it is a hell of a great deal at 205!.  It … Continue reading →

The Sportsman 1000 Watt Generator is on Sale at Home Depot for 150 Bucks

The Survival Podcast Posted on February 25, 2019 by Modern SurvivalFebruary 25, 2019

Steven Harris alerted me to this and I have to say this little generator is both Spirko and Harris approved.  The price is stupid low and this little generator has a lot to like about it.  I am so impressed with the price on this generator I just bought one as a third level back up.  The price is again just stupid cheap for what you get.  In fact I so believe that this generator belongs in your preps I am preempting item of the day today to promote it. As always I give full disclosure of any commission I … Continue reading →

Join me today as I welcome Chad Kuntz an Electrical Engineer with 10 years of experience working for large utility company building substation generation facilities with back up power redundancy. Today he joins us to discuss generator systems for our homes, sizing a generator to your needs and deciding between DIY vs. professional installation depending on your ability and system requirements. Personally I have found that most sales people who call themselves “experts” or “consultants” in the generator industry tend to attempt to sell you the largest system possible vs. address your actual needs.   So I am very happy to … Continue reading →
