The 8 Biggest Shifts in the Next 10 Years – Epi-3696
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:41:13 — 29.0MB)
In this episode, I walk you through eight of the biggest economic and technological shifts that are already in motion and will reshape everything by 2035. These aren’t pie-in-the-sky predictions or sci-fi dreams. These are real trends you can see unfolding right now if you’re paying attention. And more importantly, they’re not just about what’s coming—they’re about what you can do. Every disruption brings opportunity, if you’re ready to move.
This episode is focused on how these shifts affect you directly. Not from a policy angle, not from a Wall Street analyst perspective, but from the ground level where you live and work. Whether it’s AI changing your job, energy going local, or the slow death of the 40-hour workweek, I’m here to help you see what’s really happening and what you can do about it. Below are the eight shifts we cover.

Is the pdf mentioned in the podcast available somewhere?
It has been added to the section on learning. Sorry I forgot it.
No prob. Appreciate it very much!
That was a fantastic podcast and thanks for the AI PDF.
I really hope AI and modern tech in general improves everyone’s lives, which I’m sure it could.
I’m concerned that may not happen though. Some highly knowledgeable people have seen this moment coming for a long time and have serious concerns. I recommend reading this article written way back in 2000:
Why the Future Doesn’t Need Us

Elon Musk now sees humans as a mere boot loader:
We’re the biological bootloader for digital superintelligence,” Musk said, returning to an analogy he has used before. A bootloader is a piece of software that allows a computer to start in the first place, suggesting that human intelligence is only a stepping stone to what is to succeed it.

I think a lot of tech billionaires envision an extremely radical future where it’s definitely not business as usual. It will be interesting to see if anyone is even allowed to run their own business in 2035.
You have had Gerald Celente on as a guest before. He publishes the Trends Journal and one of the writers for that publication is Joe Doran.
Joe is very pessimistic about humanities high tech near future and backs it up with lots of evidence. I suggest you take a look at some of his writings.
I really hope he is wrong but it does serve as a warning for potential issues we could all face.
I highly recommend listening to this short podcast for more information on our possible future.

I tried to post a proof of concept on the Telegram group but I got kicked out of the group. Building a virtual team of MIT math faculty to teach me calculus interactively. I can try posting the link here if anyone is interested.
Thanks for the AI lesson pdf! I am going to be incorporating AI created lesson plans (I made one for teaching teenagers about ham radio and getting ready for the test) in this next years homeschool lesson plans and wanted to teach my 13yo how use it to learn so you just made my life way easier!!
Teaching people how to learn is real teaching.
Hello Jack, do you know NotebookLM from google: it even generates a podcast from several files on a subject https://notebooklm.google/app
Yep, talked about it a few times now and even included it in the Educational PDF I gave away with this episode.
I found this interview of a billionaire AI company founder to be very interesting as well as scary. He said the following:
“One of the outcomes of AI is institutions that have power today will gain way more power.
It’s NOT NATURALLY DEMOCRATIZING but a CENTRALIZING kind of technology.”
He also said he wants to wait for brain computer interface technology to mature before having kids so that his kids can grow up with the technology and master using it like only those who start really young can.
