She has been volunteering her time to this cause since 2013 and has written over 50,000 words each November for the last 6 years. She joins us today to discuss why the write 50,000 words in a month challenge is for everyone not just for people who want to write a “novel”.

Just to say thanks for a fascinating episode! I haven’t (yet?) done NaNoWriMo but several years ago I knew some people who did. They had a ball! And I would say that clear written communication is definitely a survival skill. Certainly it is in any contemporary work setting, and it might be even more so in possible future disruptions.
If I recall correctly, John Denver got the words to “Annie’s Song” while on a ski lift in Colorado. I’m curious if the words to “Calypso” came during the same trip.
