Salter Aquatronic Glass Electronic Kitchen Scale – Item of the Day

The Survival Podcast Posted on August 22, 2019 by Modern SurvivalSeptember 12, 2023

Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend. Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is the Salter Aquatronic Glass Electronic Kitchen Scale. We use this product daily, and I like that you can switch from grams to ounces/pounds with a press of a button.  With another press you can even measure fluid ounces.  I really love that it does both imperial and metric measurements, some of our best recipes right now come from the UK and Austrailian … Continue reading →

The Moody family farms and homesteads on 35 acres in Kentucky. John Moody discovered more than a decade ago that his diet was killing him, with duodenal ulcers, seasonal allergies, and other health problems. So, the family began to transition to local foods and local food distribution. Eventually, John relocated his family to 35 acres of land to put his learning into practice. He is the author of a number of books, including The Frugal Homesteader Handbook and The Elderberry Book. He is the founder of the Whole Life Buying club and co-founder with Joel Salatin of the Rogue Food … Continue reading →

Episode-2494- 10 Low Carb Meals and How to Make Them

The Survival Podcast Posted on August 20, 2019 by Modern SurvivalAugust 21, 2019

Today I want to talk to you about low carb living and low carb dieting, and how the two are different things.  The recipes today are really mostly for a low carb diet.  I personally define diet here in the sense of a transitive verb, ie, what you do when you want to lose weight or improve your health.  When we move to low carb living, we then use diet as a noun, meaning simply the food you eat every day. The problem we have in America is diet is generally only used to describe what we do to lose … Continue reading →

Flackers Flax Crackers – Item of the day

The Survival Podcast Posted on August 20, 2019 by Modern SurvivalAugust 20, 2019

Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend. Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is something I am very excited about.  It is Flackers Flax Crackers by Doctor in the Kitchen  A couple years ago I let my paleo diet go for a bit, got too lax and put a lot of weight back on.  No where near all of it but too much.  Along the way I have gone back to Protein Power as the core … Continue reading →

Celebrate Episode 2500 By Calling Me a Jerk

The Survival Podcast Posted on August 20, 2019 by Modern SurvivalAugust 20, 2019

We are only about 25 episodes away from Episode 2500.  That feels like a major land mark episode so time to celebrate it with a special episode.  We did this for episodes 224 (our first year anniversary) and 1000, people called in and discussed how they had changed their lives as part of the TSP community.  Episode 1000 went almost 5 hours! So this time I waited until we were just over a month out and I am limiting the calls to 2 minutes each.  The other difference is we are going to have fun with the jerk thing.  For … Continue reading →

Today on The Survival Podcast I answer your questions on crypto currency, gardening, politics, cooking, rebuilding after loss, property security, guns, investing, beer making and more. Make sure if you submit content for a feedback show that you put something like “comment for jack”, “question for jack” or “article for jack” in the subject line to assure proper identification for my screening process. Please understand I receive several hundred emails a day and can’t get them all on the air. I also do put out a lot of information on Facebook from emails that I can’t fit on the program … Continue reading →

Welcome J.R. Haley to the Expert Council

The Survival Podcast Posted on August 16, 2019 by Modern SurvivalAugust 16, 2019

Up till now I have answered the majority of gun questions on my own.  I have had a few folks offer to take up a firearms position.  The issue has been all have been 100% tactical types.  Nothing wrong with that but this position needs a balance between tactical and sporting arms.  After kicking a few guest segments to J.R. I have decided to make it official and have him join the council. Below is J.R.’s bio which is now on the Meet the Expert Council Page. J.R. Haley – Guns and Gun Gear – J.R. is a lifelong gun … Continue reading →
