Also please do your best to call from a quiet area with a good connection and speak up so you can be well heard. While I can’t put all calls on the air but I do my … Continue reading →
Episode-1527- Grafting, Root Stocks and Tree Propagation
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (17.7MB)
Recently I did a show with Kevin Hauser about apples and we discussed that he did all his propagation with “bench grafts” and always uses “M111 Rootstock” which basically caused a listener to say, WHAT DOES ALL THAT MEAN? Point taken! Sometimes when you know a subject well you just assume people know what you are talking about. The truth though is I am still learning about tree propagation myself. I know a lot about tree care, tree pruning, tree planting, etc. but making new trees I am new to myself. This might actually make it worse because as I … Continue reading →

The Duck Chronicles Episode Twenty Nine – Everyone is Doing Fine
On The Duck Chronicles Episode Twenty Nine – Everyone is Doing Fine winter continues but other then some slipping and sliding on the ice no one seems to care, no one except the chickens that is. They haven’t been outside much but the ducks seem to enjoy all the cold weather and just keep on rocking. Hans, Franz and Arnold all literally looked like their feathers were frozen early this morning, but didn’t seem to care and they thawed out as soon as the sun sort of came up. More snow is on the way but it will be in … Continue reading →
The Duck Chronicles Episode Twenty Eight – Ain’t Winter Great
On The Duck Chronicles Episode Twenty Eight – Ain’t Winter Great we skipped yesterday due to a lot of work we had to get done this weekend but we are back today and the snow, sleet and ice is with us. In spite of the winter weather the ducklings don’t really seem bothered. They are rocking on and seem to be enjoying the snow. One more example of how much tougher ducklings are compared to chicks. We have also selected names for the two additional Muscovy drakes from all the suggestions from viewers. Since the big drake is Arnold (as … Continue reading →

The plan is to see to them, then the wife and I are going to camp out on the floor in front of the TV with the dogs and cats and do absolutely nothing. … Continue reading →
