Today on The Survival Podcast I take your calls on gardening in the shade, taxes, rechargeable batteries, virtual citizens, tree propagation, herbs, credit, propaganda and more. Remember to be on a show like this one just pick up your phone and call 866-65-THINK. The best way to improve your chances of being on the air is ask your question or make your point up front, then provide details. Also please do your best to call from a quiet area with a good connection and speak up so you can be well heard. While I can’t put all calls on the … Continue reading →

Please Note – I said today was 1456 on the air today and did the history segment for that year.  This is in fact 1455, tomorrow we will do the 1455 history segment and get things back to par.   I apologize for the error. I figured you guys might enjoy a simple low key show after so many hot button issues Monday and Tuesday this week.  I have begun doing a lot of work as we head into winter and we have a major workshop on the way.  I though you might enjoy sort of a behind the scenes discussion … Continue reading →

Today on the Survival Podcast I take your comments, questions and thoughts on the next election, politics, economics, automation, gmo crops and more. Make sure if you submit content for a feedback show that you put something like “comment for jack”, “question for jack” or “article for jack” in the subject line to assure proper identification for my screening process. Please understand I receive several hundred emails a day and can’t get them all on the air. I also do put out a lot of information on Facebook from emails that I can’t fit on the program though so keep … Continue reading →

Episode-1453- Challenging the Myths about Voting

I am really late today because I wrote an article that took a long time about not voting.  I wrote this not to convince you of anything only to challenge the myths around the concept.  What amazed me was how quick I got some really hateful comments by people who clearly didn’t even read the article. How quickly people who choose to listen to and follow my work just out of hand dismissed what I had to say with programmed talking points while never actually hearing what was said. So today I am going to examine this and I do … Continue reading →

Why I Won’t Bother To Vote this Year

The Survival Podcast Posted on October 27, 2014 by Modern SurvivalJune 24, 2023

Please Note – In the entire article below I did not once tell YOU not to vote if that is what YOU want to do.  In fact I didn’t once tell you to personally do anything.  Please consider that if you decide to comment on this article. For those of you making a big deal about the coming elections and posting meme after meme on facebook, I have three things to say…. 1.  Hillary Clinton isn’t running so you are not “stopping Hillary” 2.  Barack Obama isn’t running so you are not “stopping Obama” 3.  If you want to know … Continue reading →

New Video of the Red Pharaoh Chickens

The Survival Podcast Posted on October 24, 2014 by Modern SurvivalOctober 24, 2014

Quick little video here for those who haven’t seen it.  This shows a Red Pharaoh Rooster and two Hens at the age of about 15 weeks.  The girls are laying, they lay very lightly tinted brown eggs.  They are about the size of a typical medium sized chicken egg, much larger than a pure Fayoumi. The Red Pharaoh Chicken is a cross of a Egyptian Fayoumi Hen and a Rhode Island Red Rooster.

Episode-1451- Rapid Fire Q&A on Homesteading From Facebook

Late yesterday I did this post on facebook asking for any and all questions that are permaculture/homestead related.  The plan was to do a rapid fire q and a style show. A this point I will say I will do my best, the post garnered over 150 comments in less than  12 hours time!  Some of the questions are easy, some are so complex as to require research and or a full show to cover them.  So I will pick and choose and do as many as I can do today. If you haven’t liked the TSP Facebook Page this … Continue reading →

This is a great time of the year to look back at 2014 and begin fall/winter planning as well.  2014 was a big and very active year at the TSP ranch. It also saw the launch of PermaEthos, AgriTrue, the TSP Wiki, SchoolStupidity.com and now we will soon be releasing  GenForward.com. While I will talk a little bit about those things today I really want to focus mostly on the on the ground homestead improvements and lessons.  We now have a very large flock of chickens and a pretty good sized group of ducks.  The exciting part is our ducks … Continue reading →
