Fun Post, My Playoff Preditions

The Survival Podcast Posted on December 30, 2013 by Modern SurvivalDecember 30, 2013

As a warning I have a terrible track record at this, I should stick to predicting economics and government action where I have a far better track record.  Who knows though, may be this year I will pull it off.   In any event based on my tack record in picking football games, if you are a betting man, I would not use my predictions if you value your money!  You have been warned. Oh if you don’t like football or think it is pointless or whatever, no bitching about this post, just ignore it.  LOL Okay first round next week … Continue reading →

Offical Holiday Shutdown for 2013

The Survival Podcast Posted on December 23, 2013 by Modern SurvivalDecember 23, 2013

I am off, done, finished, NOT DOING MUCH OF ANYTHING for the next week and a half.  TSP is officially shut down until Wednesday, January 1st, 2014. What does this mean? It means I am not working,  I not spending time doing much of anything at all related to business or work.  It means if you email me a long question, a proposal or much of anything at all during this shutdown you are likely wasting your time.  A week long shut down will create a huge back log of such things so MOST of it will just be deleted.  … Continue reading →

Most of today’s show is a rebroadcast of 2008’s Christmas special. Today we pause and take a moment to reflect on Christmas and how it has become the Holiday we celebrate today. Many American’s have no idea just how Christmas became unique here in America, the role it played in bringing our nation together after two wars of independence and the civil war. Christmas is special and a time to pause and reflect. Christmas is indeed a special time of year, today I will cover many aspects of it that may make this Christmas just a bit more special. There … Continue reading →

Dr. Nate Storey is the co-founder, inventor, and CEO at Bright Agrotech, an innovative vertical farming start up on the high plains of Laramie, Wyoming. Nate and the Bright Agrotech team seek to empower commercial producers and home growers alike to grow a lot more nutritious produce with less space with their ZipGrow tower technology. Dr. Storey earned his PhD. from the University of Wyoming in Agronomy researching aquaponic production and different creative live distribution models to help farmers live better. Four weeks ago I did a show called Food Forestry and How it Actually Works. In that show I asked for specific food forest questions. The response was so heavy that a three weeks ago I did Episode-1251- Food Forest Questions and Answers – Part One and wasn’t able to cover all the questions by a long shot. So two weeks ago we did Episode-1258- Food Forest Questions and Answers – Part Two and we were still far from done, so I did, Episode-1263- Food Forest Questions and Answers – Part Three.  Even with that we still have more questions, … Continue reading →

Episode-1269- You Are Your Only Solution

Day in and day out I get emails from listeners that mean well, but frankly most don’t get it.  They are emails about passing a law for this or that, as if that would really fix anything.  Franky I am at a point where the only laws that need be passed would be a law undoing an existing law.  Government and restrictions on liberty are the problems, hence stop looking for solutions from the people causing the problem. Some sound good, such as, people that want to amend the constitution to say, “Congress shall make now law that “all laws … Continue reading →

Since I filled in a call in show yesterday I will be doing a typical email in feedback show today. Today on The Survival Podcast I take your comments, questions and thoughts on military service, permaethos, off grid life, solar, urban farming and more Make sure if you submit content for a feedback show that you put something like “comment for jack”, “question for jack” or “article for jack” in the subject line to assure proper identification for my screening process. Please understand I receive several hundred emails a day and can’t get them all on the air. I also … Continue reading →

A Special Message from Jack and the Last Day for the MSB Christmas Sale

The Survival Podcast Posted on December 15, 2013 by Modern SurvivalDecember 15, 2013

Just a heads up that the dec3013 Christmas sale expires tonight.  That means midnight central standard time, it DOES NOT mean you can email me in the morning and still get the discount.  It DOES NOT mean that if you explain how your nephew’s dog ate your MSB print out or that you really wanted it but forgot or what ever that I will give you the discount tomorrow. Every time I run a sale I get people from a day to a week later that want the discount and want me to make an exception.   In spite of the … Continue reading →

Today we have the great pleasure of having Geoff Lawton on to discuss many of his new upcoming free videos, his recent online PDC and how he feels Permaculture is changing the world.    The interview segment was pretty short because we had many and I mean MANY technical issues with lag across skype. We always have a bit due to distance to Australia alone but this time was something we could barely work though.   Geoff was a champ though and worked though it.  I then went and spent over an hour editing things out and cleaning them up.  Tune in … Continue reading →
