Note – While I explain Nurse Amy’s reasoning in adding this to their life it really isn’t why I have become a regular user. I figure my odds of getting a cytokine storm due to CoVid are about the same as being struck twice by lighting. However, cancer is a real risk in our polluted world. If you read up on these mushrooms their anti cancer characteristics are well documented and at the cost per day this to me is insurance too cheap not to have. Of course I make no medical claims here, I just suggest you read the research and decide for yourself.
Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend.
Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is Sacred 7 Mushroom Extract Powder. This one came to me as a recommendation by Nurse Amy as in Doc Bones and Nurse Amy of the expert council. One thing I want to say about Amy is she is not RN or LVN, but rather an NP. What is an NP? A nurse practitioner NP is an advanced practice registered nurse and a type of mid-level practitioner. NPs are trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate and prescribe treatment plans.
In other words they are about half way between an RN and an MD. They can prescribe medications, make diagnosis, etc. I am pointing that out due to what I am about to say next.
As many of you know Joe (Doc Bones) jokes a lot about his age. People don’t seem to realize he is really getting up there in years because honestly he looks 15 years younger than he is. He also has some underlying health conditions which I will leave at that, as I don’t want to give away any personal information beyond what he has said publicly himself.
In any event this has all led Amy to look for anything that may be helpful to Joe in the middle of this Pandemic. One big risk is called cytokine storm. A cytokine storm is where far too many immune cells are caught in an endless loop of calling more and more immune cells to fight the infection. This is one of the very bad things happening to some people with advanced CoVid-19.
Now I want to be clear neither Amy nor I are saying that this will do anything at all to prevent a cytokine storm in a CoVid patient and absolutely no research has been done about that in regard to any mushroom that either of us are aware of. Amy though found this AMAZING study done on 5 mushrooms as to their ability to impair cytokine storm during cancer treatment. Read it and draw your own conclusions. Amy’s reasoning is it might, it is cheap and it won’t hurt you. Additionally these mushrooms all are also proven to have anti cancer properties with a large amount of research supporting them.
Amy did a ton of research and found this product which contains all five of the mushrooms in the study which are; Agaricus, Reishi, Cordyceps, Turkey Tail and Maitake. It also has two others that have been heavily researched and also determined in studies to have anti cancer properties, those two are; Lion’s Mane and Chaga.
I am now taking this and here is my reasoning. If the odds that it will do the square root of anything to reduce cytokine storm in CoVid are 100-1 against it, the cost is low enough, the risk is zero and the other potential benefits make it a no brainer.
For me honestly I have been looking for a mushroom product to add to my regime for a long time. This all goes back to several talks I have listened to by Paul Stamets who has likely done more with research on mushrooms than any other person on the planet. You can find his website here. If you tune into today’s show during the TspAz.com segment I will tell you about one of his stories.
In the end I have wanted something filling this role and this product seems like a perfect fit with all the research done by a good friend, with great credentials whom I trust. A serving is 1/4 Tsp and that is what I have been using in my morning coffee, and no you can’t taste it at all, at least I can’t. It dissolves easily in any hot liquid.
It provides 100mg of each of the seven mushrooms which again are Agaricus, Reishi, Cordyceps, Turkey Tail, Maitake, Lion’s Mane and Chaga. An 8oz bag has 322 servings and costs 44.99, that comes out to 14 cents a day. 28 cents a day for both Dorothy and I, and that one bag will last us 161 days or a bit over 5 months.
So to me given the mountains of research on all of these mushrooms, the fact that this product is nothing but powdered mushrooms with no fillers adding it to my daily regiment seems like a no brainer. You can also get a smaller bag of 2 ounces for 24.99 but that will increase the price per serving to 28 cents but it may be a better choice if you just want to try it.
In the end you guys know I don’t make any health claims or claims anything treats or cures anything, so simply put do your own research and make your own decisions. That said personally I have decided adding Sacred 7 Mushroom Extract Powder to my daily regiment is a no brainer due to the potential benefits and very lost cost and what seems like zero risk.
