TSP to Return Tomorrow and MSB was Hit by a Y2K Like Bug
This year the Christmas to New Years shut down of TSP was an event onto itself. We had the Arkansas ice storm followed by 14 inches of snow, 200,000 people without power and roads down everywhere from down trees. In other words it was pretty much good fun. Our Genny hummed and even the tree was lit up on Christmas day.
Our son had flown in from Arlington and ended up stuck a few extra days, in fact to get home he hooked up with two others at the little Airport. They rented a car and drove home together. It was a great example of random strangers creating community and looking out for one another.
TSP will be back tomorrow and boy do we have a lot to talk about!
Lastly if you had issues logging into the MSB today the problem should be resolved by now. Once again it has to do with PayPal and something called a hold date. All members had their renewal date temporarily set to Dec. 31st, 2012. This was just a place holder and was reset on renewal or cancellation.
All was fine until well, yesterday. We got with our crack programmer Ben Fitts this morning and he saved us days of work in about an hour. Everyone should now be good to go. If you do have any issues logging in just email me and I will fix it for you.
It is funny how similar this is to the old Y2K bug. A date was set in a system 10 years ago because it simply seemed far enough into the future that an update would take care of it and said update never happened. Fortunately this one was pretty easy to fix, well at least it was for Ben.
If you have any programming needs I can’t recommend him highly enough. He and his partner specialize in membership style sites but there isn’t very much they can’t do. Their company is Called BC Marketers. The fact that he fixed our issues at 10 AM on New Year’s Day says a lot about their commitment to excellence in customer service.
Anyway tomorrow I will be back and we can talk about the Non Fiscal Cliff and the real danger of the Feinstein proposed gun control law that no one is talking about. Let me tell you that law is DOA even in the senate, the danger it represents is real though. Remember they play Chess, not checkers, so why do you think you introduce a draconian bill that you know will fail? Tune in to tomorrow’s TSP for the answer if you don’t already have it.
Happy New Year, Jack! Looking forward to living that better life, if times get tough or even if they don’t in 2013.
Genny running the Christmas tree! Now THAT’s survival, LOL!
Happy New Year Everyone!
Yep use the preps whenever you need them. They are there to be taken advantage of even if you want to light your tree. Glad to hear things are okay and looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
Be well!
“TSP will be back tomorrow and boy do we have a lot to talk about!”
Boy is that an understatement. At least the understatement of the year!
ie. New Year’s day. LOL
It’s been tough on us self employed types that listen to the A list of talkers and podcasters everyday. Not to have any of you on the air during this time of so much going down has not been easy. It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve heard all my friend’s voices.
Jack, I hope you got some rest even though the world was in chaos around ya! Man you loose power more often than anyone I know of. Maybe it’ll be better when ya move back south of the border.
Rob
Gives me something to look forward to tomorrow. I came over from your business podcast, Five Minutes with Jack. I listened to all those at least three times a piece, and loved the advice. Now I’m starting with TSP and so far really enjoying it.
Keep up the good work!
Jeff
They introduce a draconian bill, the other side compromises, and gun control is passed. The other side says “well at least it’s not as bad as what was proposed,” end of story.
that was my thought as well.
Bingo.
I bet y’all had LED Christmas tree lights that hardly drew any wattage at all! (wink). Why didn’t you use the “battery backup” system(s) ? Sounds like you folks came through things okay and are now ready to come up and join us for a Northern Idaho Christmas some year, as well as a great start to 13 in ’13. Stay safe.
Welcome back!
Can’t wait Jack, listening to Alex Jones over that last few days has me on the edge of my own cliff..
I hate ice storms. Hardly ever see anything like that in Colo Springs, but it is cold today. My guess on the Feinstein bill is that she is introducing a draconian bill that is so bad the gun owners will think they have a real deal when it is negotiated and amended to only require something easy like a national registration scheme.
