Episode-175- Planning vs Paranoia

The more I talk to the media the more I am realizing how deep the belief that survivalists are paranoids is in the average person.  This is simply as gently as I can put it moronic.  Is it paranoid to have life insurance?  Is it paranoid to wear a seat belt?  Is it paranoid to keep an eye on your kids while they play?  If not why is it paranoid to take personal responsiblity for yourself and understand that at times things go wrong?

Tune in today to hear…

  • My continuing struggle with the media
  • A bit more on the twits that think I am making a huge mistake by admitting to being a prepper
  • What your own power is and why it should make you act in confidence vs in fear
  • The ability to plan and survive is a universal human constant
  • If property is over price in your area don’t buy it, move, yep I said it
  • What happens to you if you try to take a child away from his mother and what that teaches us
  • Why making basic human responses into something “amazing” by the media is robbing people of their own power
  • Your inner voice, it will never shut up, so you better listen to it
  • What humans can do about disaster that no other known entity can
  • Why disaster commonality is so important

Episode-172- Developing the Survival Skills Kit – Part 1

Today we discuss some true “survival skills” that are often over looked or taken  for granted.  Unlike a “survival kit” which can be lost, stolen, forgotten, used up, etc, your skills are always with you.  Today we won’t be discussing wilderness skills, truly primitive skills or the classic survial skills that are popular in forums.  Instead we discuss the skills that can save lives, improve survival and increase quality of life in tough times that are often left out of such discussions.

Tune in Today as we Discuss…

  • The skill of building, carpentry, etc.
  • Learning to negotiate, no one looses in a good negotiation

Episode-152- Dealing With Anti Survivalist Stigma

Today’s show covers the anti survivalist stigma that modern survivalists must face in main stream society.  Are you tired of being depicted as a “right wing militia gun nut locked up in a religious compound praying for the end or modern society so you can live off your cases of peanut butter while everyone else starves”?

Honestly I don’t care about how people think about me as an individual, I am who I am with my pholosophy out there for anyone to examine and embrace, ignore or criticize.  I do however, care a great deal about many people that know something isn’t right about how we are living today as a society and want to know more but are put off by how the media and society potrays us.

Today’s show covers how to discuss modern survival philosphies with the uninitiated and get easily past the stigma and hopefully help more people live a better life, “if times get tough or even if they don’t”.

Episode-151- Finding The Time To Prep

Honestly I get a question similar to this at least once a day, “Jack, how in the world do you find the time and resources to do all of these things?”.  So today I decided to discuss that subject because indeed prepping can seem over whelming at times.

  • Slowing building up your bug out bag and bug out vehicles
  • Understand how long you worked at being unprepared, you can’t correct it overnight

Episode-110- The Second Economic Minefield

Today I decided to do another economy based show before going back to some more practical preparations type of content.  Why?  I am afraid the average person is being lulled into a false sense of security that is telling them, we have reached the bottom of the down turn.  Note that today’s show is a very large file compared to most shows because it was recorded on Audacity.

Episode-85 What if Nothing Goes Wrong

This is a question I think many people in the survivalist community hear from those that tend to stereotype us all as separatist militia tin foil hat types. My view is that survivalists and survival philosophies take many forms.

  • How survivalism is often about simply “being human”
  • Focusing on what you can control vs. what you have concern about
  • How you see more of a natural human state the further you get from large cities
